(Small Intro)She was walking down an old paved road. Nothing to do, no place to be, no place to go but forward. The girl was 16, dark wavy long hair. Piercing blue eyes. Why was she on this path alone? Why isn't there anybody following her? Why isn’t any body looking for her? But here she was. All alone. Walking forward.
The leaves on the trees around her swayed and pulled to the wind, they moved as if they were dancing telling her to just be happy just like they are. To smile and look up and to keep moving; She’ll find a destination soon but for now to just enjoy the journey and the peace.
A rustle in the breech of the woods. Not a normal animal. She could sense this. It was human, possible to be another of her world but unlikely. She waited for it to reveal itself.
A moment later a tall male figure revealed itself from the woods. “Hello.” It spoke
The girl took a moment to realize it was saying hello. “Hello, what are you doing in this part of the woods at this hour?” She spoke to it in his native english language.
“I was looking for you.”
“Me?”
“Yes you”
“Why?”
“You are needed.”
She looked puzzled and yet figured out that she was being asked to take another job. “What sort of thing am I needed for?”
“A mission. To save. If you can save this one; you will save many.”
“Okay. I accept. Where do I begin this mission?”
“Minneapolis”
Her eyes spoke and she looked around for anyone else who may be lurking. Deep breath in and ran. Ran and caught the wind with her 15-foot white wing span. She took the sky as if it were her own and looked below at the male as he pointed to his right. The North. She must go north to get to Minneapolis. She looked up and was flying fast and hard until she saw the city lights.
Carly’s POV
I landed in the city just past 01:00 a.m. The night misty air cold on my face and my wings drenched in dew. I was shivering head to toe not knowing where to turn. I looked around trying to sense my mission or any helpers I may get with my mission. It was mid-september and it was getting colder by the hour. I tucked my wings into my shoulders and walked around the empty, lifeless streets of what appeared to be downtown. My phone buzzed in my pocket, I looked down at the screen.
Josh. Go figure. Pressing the answer key, “Hey, you wanna hang out?” I hesitated.
“Can’t, Mom grounded me.”
“What a bitch she is.” I giggled ‘because that was a true statement.
“Alright, bye Carly I’ll come by tomorrow, maybe we can get you un-grounded.”
“Kay, Night Josh.” My phone line went out and I just tucked the phone back into its little spot in my pocket. Josh is so naive. I wonder if I could tell him I’m an angel with a mission…? I don’t know he just knows about the angel part. And he does come in handy for being a best friend. Did I mention yet he’s an angel? Oh yeah he is. Pure blood. SOB rubs it in to me all the time. I’m only half because of Dad. Mom is mortal so it makes sense that she’s a bitch.
I roamed Minneapolis for a few more hours and then flew home. Its too cold to do anything else out here. I didn’t know the exact mission details but it was nice to see a city at night. It was pretty.
I flew into the house just in the knick of time.
Plopped into bed and closed my eyes just as mom was opening my door to check in on me. She closed it again as she saw I was peacefully “Sleeping” Dumbass.
I woke up at 6:30 and dressed for school. Wait... isn't today its saturday. Great. I get up early for no reason. I call Josh instead.
"You ungreatful, meann horrible and rude person" Josh said as I closed the front door behind him. "its too early and its saturday."
"I've been up too so don't complain to me."
"Whatever, do you at least got food? "
"You know where it is, do I look like a maid to you?"
"You're my princess but right now you could look like one if you were kind and wanted to make me food of course."
"I'll make myself eggs, and if theres leftovers you are welcome to them." I grinned leaning up to kiss him.
