I finished my coffee and drove back home. I was already yawning as I unlocked my front door, family gatherings can be so exhausting. I dropped my bag lazily on the floor and collapsed into my plush sheets. Not even bothering to change out of my clothes.

Time skip

I opened my eyes to complete darkness. I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. Quoi! (What!). It was almost 8:00 o'clock, I had a date with Jacob. He'd be there at any moment! I jumped out of bed and sprinted to my bathroom, throwing my clothes off. I had a quick shower, dried myself with my towel and rubbed shea butter all over myself.

I walked into my magnificent closet and eyed the shelves. Hm... what to wear? I settled for a white off shoulder shirt with a belted, mid thigh, black leather skirt, some thin strap, black heels and paired it up with my black leather Guess bag. To lazy to fix my hair, I just moisturized it and leave it in its natural curls. I put on some light makeup and wore my hoop earrings.

Finally done. I looked at myself in the mirror and checked myself out. Damn I look good. Comme c'est beau! (How beautiful!). The ringing of my doorbell brought me back to reality. I immediately ran down the stairs almost tripping on my own two feet. I arrived at the door, took a deep breath and composed myself. I smiled and swung it open.

There he stood, my future husband. He looked dashing. He wore a white collared shirt with a burgundy sweater; paired with some navy blue pants and some brown loafers. But he had a small white board and a marker in his hand.

"Are you ready to go?" He wrote.

"Yes" I replied. I watched him walk to the car and open the door. He stopped as soon as he realized that I wasn't following him.
"Come on" he wrote in capital letters.
"Don't I look good?" I frowned and flashed my best puppy eyes at him.
He just stood there staring at me before he sighed, took the marker and wrote something down.
"You look ravishingly beautiful. If it weren't for the fact that this is our first date I would've taken you right there the minute you opened the door."
I stood there agape, too stunned to speak! I said a meek thank you and got into the car.
As he started the car, I turned to him, "Before we set off, I just want you to know that I don't like expensive ass restaurants and crappy wine tastings." His smile waned slightly, "I want to see the real you."
He nodded quietly and started to drive. I turned the radio dial, searching for some background sound. Suddenly 'Motivation' starts blaring through the speakers, my jam. Normani is that bitch. I started singing along to the song:

"I'ma break you off, let me be your motivation
To stay and give it tonight
And, baby, turn around, let me give you innovation, hey

I stopped singing and caught my breath. I turn around and see a slight smile on Jacob's face. I leaned back shyly in the seat and look outside. The evening flurry of the city center faded away into the delicate outskirts of Paris. I wondered where we were headed. We arrived at a retro themed restaurant which caught me off guard.

He opened the car door, letting me out with a bow. As he escorted me into the corny diner, I felt like a million euros. We sat down and browsed through the menu. Soon, a waitress dashed by in light pink skates and took our orders. He scribbled his on his white board 'One cheeseburger and some curly fries'. And I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with some chicken wings at the side and animal style fries with a coke.

The waitress skated away and I put my menu down to look at him. "If you don't mind me asking," he seemed to tense up, as if he had anticipated the question "why don't you... talk." He sighed and took a minute to think, his brow furrowed. Finally, he uncapped his marker and wrote: It's a long story but what I lack in talking, I make up for with listening.

And so I talked and talked while he listened. I talked about my grandma and her fortune (but conveniently left out the marriage clause), my dreams and aspirations, anything and everything.  Our food came and while we ate I just kept on talking and he never stopped listening. We finished our food and ordered for desert which was one giant chocolate milkshake with two straws for us to share. We stared into each others' eyes as we gulped down the delicious chocolate.

"You know what, this is the first time that I'm actually enjoying a date" he wrote.
I give him a smile and we get in the car and he drives me back home. "I hope to see you again" I said.
"How about you meet me in the afternoon tomorrow for lunch." He wrote.
"Sure why not. Oh and please bring Indila tomorrow." He just nodded and before he drove off I kissed him on the cheek and waved him goodbye. He waved back and finally drives off. I enter my house and go straight to my bedroom. I strip out of my clothes. Clean my makeup and do my skin care routine. I go to bed thinking about a certain blue eyed man that will for sure hunt me in my dreams.
