"getting your soulmate hurts."

is what Jungguk was always told. he was told that whenever you found your soulmate, a sharp searing pain in your heart would mean that you've met your partner for life. what would also happen was your life tattoo connection to you and your partner would appear. that too would hurt.

his mom always told him of when she met dad. but her pain wasn't nearly as bad as her sisters was. the pain varied person to person, apparently it also varied on how many soulmates you get.

recently his mom has been worried for him. Jungguk hasn't met his soulmate yet which means he should be getting a hint soon since he is 18. hints were something you get if you have not met your soulmate by chance by the age of 18. hints were another factor of pain though.

hints came in dreams, painful, terrible dreams that seem to last forever. no one knew why they were so terrible but maybe it was just the universe punishing you for not finding your soulmate.

Jungguk was scared to find his soulmate. he didn't want to feel the pain he's been told about. what if he got more than one soulmate? wouldn't the pain be unbearable? but he also didn't want to go through the pain of having a dream of a hint. he's read many articles of people's dreams but they led to them finding their soulmate in the nick of time.
