It was Saturday, and Lizzy was just doing what she usually does in her free time - read upstairs in her bed. She loved to read fictional books. She lived in a 2 story modern house with her mom. It was usually a bit messy, but it was actually clean.
"Lizzy, come downstairs," her mom called up the stairs.
"Coming," she called down,"just let me finish this page first."When she finished, she went downstairs.
When Lizzy reached the bottom of the steps, she saw an unfamiliar person sitting on her couch.
Well, he wasn't the perfect guy. He smiled at her with a toothy grin. His teeth were obviously not cleaned in a while. He was bald, but he had covered it with a baseball hat very badly. He wore a baggy grey sweatshirt with dark blue, ripped jeans.
"Hi, I've heard your name is Lizzy and you like read," he said. His voice sounded scratchy.
"Yep," she just simply stated. "Who are you?" she said with a puzzled expression.
"I'm Trink, nice to meet you," he said with his toothy grin. "I've heard a lot about you."
"Lizzy, would you be a dear and get our guest some water?" my mother asked me.
"Sure," she said. Lizzy noticed she was still at the steps, so she moved past the two and into the kitchen.
She got three glasses of water and handed one to her mother and one to Trink. She kept the last one for herself. The three each took a sip.
"Thank you, Tracy, I needed some water," he said to Lizzy's mom.
"Why don't we do a little activity with our guest, Lizzy. Won't that be fun?" my mom asked me.
"That sounds fun," Trink commented.
"Why don't I read a story aloud to you both?" my mom asked.
"Yeah! Read a ficional story, Mom!" Lizzy exclaimed.
"That sounds good to me," Trink said.
So the three did as they planned. Lizzy's mom read Imperial, a book about dragons.
You could say that Trink liked it. He was smiling with his toothy grin again. He didn't say a word as her mom read each page one by one
After they were finished, it was about 9. So Lizzy went to bed.
Good night, Lizzy," they had said as she went up the stairs.
Apparently Trink, their guest was staying the night.
Lizzy awoke at 8 the next morning. Once again, when she went down the stairs, she saw Trink laying on the couch with his phone.
"Good morning, Lizzy," he said without looking up at her.
"Morning," she said with a tired expression on her face.
Lizzy went to the kitchen and got a bowl of Captain Crunch.
After she ate her breakfast, her mom wanted her. So Lizzy walked over to her.
"Yes, Mom?" she asked her mother.
"Do you like Trink?" she asked.
"Yeah, I guess" Lizzy responded with a puzzled look.
"Would you mind if he lived with us?" Tracy asked her.
"No," she answered, she was starting to get confused.
"Thank you, Lizzy, I just love him," she said.
