Dark clouds hung around like an unwanted guest, refusing to leave even if it would improve the mood. Small raindrops could be felt splattering in her face, but she didn't notice, for there were more important things to take in, to many things to take in.
Small clusters of people trugged up the small hillside, some carrying small flowers, most likely hand picked before their journey or on their way.
Before she was ready, it came into view; the coffin.
Tears threatened to prick her eyes but being the strong willed thing she was, held them back. To any onlooker, she would appear stern, perhaps even angry, but the furrow in her brow only served as a defence mechanism against the emotions threatening to burst forth from her heart.
The two men carrying the coffin gently placed it down beside the hole dug, it's final resting place. The man whom carried the front end kneeled down beside the handmade, wooden box and wept. The latter of the two placed a hand on the crying mans shoulder in support, holding back tears of his own.
After a few moments the crouching man stood up and rubbed at the scruff on his face, that had evidently grown out over not taking care of his physical appearance while in his time of mourning. Tears perched perfectly on his bottom eyelids, threatening to topple out and fall down his face, but he did his best to hold it in.
By now the small clusters of people had formed to make a crowd, some looking on in pity, some in sorrow, but most just looked down mournful. The girl kept a distance, if she were to get to close she wouldn't be able to stop her emotions from taking over, so she kept some distance.
The two men finally stepped back from the coffin and looked down as the priest started with the funeral.
