The Beginning of The End

My village was set ablaze by a roaring fire that threatened to engulf us all. It blazed 100 feet high as the smoke climbed ever higher into the red sky, encroaching around the city, as corpses lied around the crumbling street. My eyes widened with fear I stared at my village lit with hellfire. My people had been laid to waste. Today was Judgement day. There was no escaping this. Men, women, and children lied among the deceased. They called out to their dying loved ones but, there was no saving them.
Clouds of ash piled onto each other in the stormy sky as lightning streaked across the ocean of red above me. The fumes of this raging fire were forcing my fellow man on their knees gasping for air. I looked to the sky wondering what we did to bring the end of days. What had brought this Day of Reckoning about?
I look around me, panicking as the flames swallowed nearby structures. The ones unlucky enough to be alive were coughing up blood as their lungs filled with ash. All of a sudden, I realized that I didn't smell the ash or smoke. I sniffed and all I could smell was fresh air filling my lungs. It was as if I was in a serene meadow. The people who were alive moments ago now lie deceased. Instinctively, I walked towards the only building that was not on fire, the church. Instead of feeling the burning ground lit with sparks, I felt the cold cobblestone bricks I had always felt.
I passed the fountain where Lilith's. beautiful face and tranquil body had been represented in the town square since my youth. I passed the town square nearing the church and halted at the entryway. Suddenly, I felt a numb nothingness as the screams of my people raged on in the distance. The emotions of this unbearable pain washed away like rain. Numb to the suffering, numb to the chaos around me. Feeling nothing as all I reached for the door handle feeling an immense power surge through every nerve in my body. I opened the door to see a goat head with burning red eyes looking directly at me.
