Chapter One

Right in the Middle

"Mitsuma! I'm so happy to be in your arms again I belong here." I smiled at myself,

"I...you...you mean everything to me."I leaned back to look into his eyes searching for the warmth

of the past few weeks with him. But his cold glare caught me unaware and I stumbled back. He

scoffed at me, "Did you honestly believe that I could love a girl, humph, a human like you? You're

not even human.Fall for someone so inferior to myself?" His lips curled into a sneer. "Unlikely.

These games between us bore me. I am no longer amused by you." His words splintering the

fibers of my being, ripping me apart. "Mitsuma...I...I thought tha-" He swept my hands off his

chest. "Then obviously you should avoid thinking."

My head started swimming, my eyes burning with tears spilling over the brim before falling

off my cheeks and onto the ground. What did I do so wrong? The Great Destructor ruined the

perfect relationship. I didn't deserve to be happy. I stepped away from him;keeping my eyes

downcast. Letting the traitor tears that made me feel weak slip down my cheeks. "I understand, I

apologize for being such a...a burden to you." I couldn't look at him, couldn't let him see me

break. So I ran. Stumbling over myself with blurred vision, I didn't care where I was running, I

just needed to get away...away from my closest friend, my world.

The streets flashed by me driving me into the darkest part of the forest. A rock caught my foot

slamming me to the ground, whipping my head into the dirt. The pain skyrocketing through my

ankle was nothing compared to the knife I had stuck in my chest slowly draining me of anything I

had left.I tried to keep running, but my ankle wouldn't let me move. I was in the middle of the

darkening forest and I didn't even care.

Curling up in my bed I could feel my ankle snag on my blankets. I tried to open my eyes to see

what had happened, but all I could remember was the world being veiled in mist. My eyes, they

had been covered with tears. My eyes caught a bright flash of color and I leaned down to

investigate, startled I saw my fuzzy neon orange socks and then I realized....Someone had braced

my foot......
