The party

The air was foggy with marijuana smoke and thick with the smell of liquor. Veronica an old time party girl felt buzzed but In a strange euphoric way. She had decided to go to this party to get her mind off of things her family was going through issues. Betty had refused to come so she could study instead and well Archie did come he got so drunk that he got sick and passed out so Veronica sat alone on an empty couch processing her thoughts. "Hey you want a hit" asked a stranger holding what looked to be pot, Veronica was not typically a stoner but In this moment she was so so bored and full of thoughts she just wanted to relax so she grabbed the joint and took a smooth hit off of it blowing the smoke out of her mouth with ease. Alas she felt better, calmer then ever but she decided she needed fresh air so she stood up and walked towards the front door of this foreign house. As she stumbled out the door tripping she ran into of all people, Jughead "woah there" he said putting his arms out to help stop her from falling. "Jughead Jones what on earth are you doing at a party, this is so not your scene" Veronica said teasingly with a quick smile he answered " Typically no I wouldn't be at a place like this but I promised Archie I'd be his sober buddy". Veronica giggled "well I think it's a little late for that he's already passed out" "wow of course he did" jughead replied "awh give him a break he never cuts loose" "you can still come in you know I don't bite" And with a small second of consideration he walked in behind her. "Care for some cheap alcohol" Veronica said offering a cup to jughead he smiled "so much for sober buddy" they clinked their red cups together and laughed. The two talked for what felt like hours about any and everything, future goals, would you rathers, any school gossip they knew of and with all the drinks they had they were both pretty buzzed at that point. " so what's your dream , what does the future hold for Veronica Lodge ?" Jughead asked " well I know I want to start a future of my own something apart from my drama filled family maybe move back to New York or go to Paris ? Start a fashion line , hell I'd even sell coffee so long as i could get away and live in the city" Jughead stared for a moment "I know that sounds so cliche" Veronica said a bit insecure " no no I like your dream it's very you and besides who doesn't want to get out of this chaos filled town" Jughead said reassuringly. "What about you?" Veronica replied, "as basic as you imagine I want to be a writer maybe an author, I'd need to live somewhere where I could be inspired , someplace that would also be creative enough for my photography" he said " Paris is pretty inspiring if you ask me " Veronica said before taking a sip from her cup. "And what I'd just live with you ?" He replied "Why not maybe it'd be fun" Veronica said "Have you seen the two of us together we'd probably bicker and argue all the time our lifestyles are so drastically different" he added " I mean it's not always bad look at as now sitting on the same couch at some party actually laughing, we may not be likely friends but doesn't mean our friendship is impossible" . He smiled "maybe you're right they do say opposites do attract" and with that they kind of just stared at eachother for a moment. Veronica leaned in as if to kiss Jughead for a moment Jughead froze "we shouldn't do this" he said "I know" she said looking at him for a moment he then decidedly inclined over to her to kiss her back. The whole world froze in that moment all jughead could think about was how sweet Veronica's kisses tasted and how soft her hair felt in his fingers. The two kissed passionately as if all the time in the world was theirs not knowing if this momennt of love would last forever but just basking In the sunniness of it all.
