"Where is he?" Rebekah angrily appeared in front of me. Her fangs protruding from her mouth as her hand gripped my neck. "I don't know what you're talking about!" I choked as her grip tightened more.
"Don't play dumb, Caroline. Where is Nik?" She asked once more. I looked at her and said, "I--- I don't know where he is, Rebekah!"
"Why the hell should I know where your brother is!" I blurted out the moment she let go of me. "Pathetic. He won't even tell you where he is and now I'm stuck here." She said.
"What do you mean by 'stuck here'?" I asked as my fingers brushed the disappearing bruise around my neck.
She glanced at me and said, "Nik had a witch set-up a boundary spell so that I can't leave Mystic Falls. It's probably your little witch friend who did it."
Then I realized, why would he leave Rebekah? It makes no sense.
It hit me. I immediately pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialled Elena's number. It was ringing but no answer. "If you're calling the doppelganger, she's with Damon. He's not even answering my calls." Rebekah said.
Before Elena could answer her phone, I hung up and leaned on the cold wall of the restroom of Mystic Grill.
"What're you gonna do now? I mean, since your brother isn't here anymore and you are literally stuck here, Damon will want to kill you for killing Elena. I mean, I want to kill you too but right now I am not in the mood for any bloodshedding." I babbled on as she sunk to her knees. She groaned and mumbled something Klaus being a selfish prick.
It wasn't my place to disagree. She is right though. Why would he leave Rebekah and put a boundary spell?
After that awkward conversation with Rebekah, I hurriedly went to the site where Klaus' witch friend set-up the boundary spell that Rebekah told me.
When I got there, I found Bonnie standing in front of the welcome sign for Mystic Falls. "Bonnie, don't tell me... You were the one who set up the boundary spell..." I immediately spoke. She turned around and said, "Klaus asked me to. Since he has no use for Elena, he left."
"Why would you do that? He left Rebekah. With that spell, she can't even go after him." I blurted out. I could feel my blood rising. Why was I mad about the spell and Rebekah not being able to go after her brother?
"I did him a favor. The only ones who can go beyond this border are humans, me, Stefan...and you. I think he wants Stefan to move on since Elena chose to be with Damon. Once other vampires enter the boundary, they'll be stuck here until I say so." Bonnie explained as her eyes darkened and veins on her skin began to appear. She mumbled words that I couldn't understand. After a few seconds the gust of wind came to a stop and she said, "He's giving you a choice, Caroline."
I aimlessly wandered to the Salvatore boarding house. It was weird enough that I could hear Elena planning a trip but even weirder when she was planning it with Damon.
I didn't even bother to say hi to them. I went to Stefan's room, where I found him lying on his bed while writing on his diary. When he looked up, our eyes met. He smiled weakly as he said, "Caroline, what're you doing here?"
I found myself sitting on the edge of his bed, smiling, "I really don't know. Wanna do something fun?" I asked as I comfortably crawled beside him. He threw his diary on the side table and glanced at me, "What do you suggest?"
"Roadtrip? We could go out of town. Let's go to Vegas or Hollywood, yea?" I suggested as he huffed out a laugh. "Is this because Klaus isn't here anymore or you're just trying to make me feel good?" He asked once more.
"Both. Did you know that he left Rebekah here? Aaaand that he even asked Bonnie to put up a boundary spell so that she couldn't follow him." I babbled on as he shifted his body to a more comfortable position.
I glanced at him and he was sighing very heavily, "How about the beach? I haven't been on a beach for quite a long time." I heard him say. When I sat up and looked back at him, he was grining widely like a kid with a new toy.
"Which beach? It better be Miami, Stefan! Or Hawaii..." I added as we exchanged grins.
"We could do both. Miami, first then we'll go to Hawaii, how does that sound?" Stefan said and I agreed.
After planning the trip and scheduling the plane tickets to Miami on his computer, I went home and found Elena sitting in front of my porch with a seriously gloomy look on her face.
"What's up?" I asked, walking towards her. "Where are you two going?" She asked.
I thought back and said, "To Miami. We figured that we'd bond since Klaus is gone. Why? Is there a problem?"
"Don't take Stefan away from me, Caroline. I need him just as much as I need Damon." She suddenly blurted out.
I stared at her in dismay and shock, my mouth open. "You know what, I don't care, Elena. You're with Damon. Don't drag Stefan in that kind of situation." I told as I walked pass her but she eventually grabbed my arm. Her grip tightens as her eyes begin to darken and her fangs protrude from her mouth, "You like him, don't you?" She asked.
I grabbed her wrist and she loosened her grip. She winced in pain as I twisted her arm, "I'm his best friend, Elena. And you know what, you and Katherine are so much alike!" I said to her as I went inside the house without even looking back.
Author's Note:
This is my second time writing a TVD fanfic. I'll post my first fanfic here later. For the Elena fans, sorry I made her like Katherine who wants both of the Salvatore brothers.
I'm actually a Stelena shipper but I do want Stefan to go for another character. I liked the idea of Stebekah too. Ah, Steroline friendship is in this chapter and on the next one. I am a KLAROLINE shipper. I just looooooove them. :)
Read, comment, vote, fan! :) Thank you!
