Her alarm clock blared out the 'ringing' sound as it always does each morning, as a sign for Carly to awake from her sleep. Her eyes gently opened to the sight of the sunlight bleeding through her see through curtains. She sat up, stretched out her arms, and got out of her bed to make it. Once she was done, she quietly went to the kitchen to make her some coffee to officially wake her up.

Her cat, Snow, had lingered into the kitchen and purred around Carly's leg, she didn't mind one bit to which her fur was as soft as a baby's bottom. She also was as white as snow, hint the name Snow.

Once the coffee and fully been made, She poured the drink into her mug and went to go get ready for her first day. Snow had followed her into her room and laid down on the bed, falling asleep.

She opened her closet door and wondered what she would wear, after all it was the first day, she had to make a good impression. So she found a cute, but also nice outfit to wear.

*Outfit Carly's Wearing*

"Perfect," She spoke, smiling at the dress she had just put on. After she finished her coffee, She had went to the restroom, brushed her teeth, curled her hair, and put on some vanilla fragrance to top it all off.

Carly grabbed her keys and her bag, and was almost about to leave when she heard her mother's voice behind her.

"Carly, sweetie, can I have a little chat with you for a second?" Her soft, but firm voice spoke.

Carly was still facing the door, her fingertips sliding off the door handle. She turned facing her mom, "Yes mother?"

"I just wanted to remind you that this is a new year, a new beginning if you will. So this year, you must do better than the last, I mean you had a 3.5 average," She said giving a disappointed look at her daughter.

"Anyway, I won't hold you back any longer, have a good day," Her mother spoke with a fake smile attached to her face.

During what she had said, Carly had looked at the floor, zoning out so she could not hear her mothers lecture she does every single time she's around.

Finally her mom walked away, and Carly quickly walked out the door, got into her car, and drove off as fast as she could, without going over the speed limit of course.

The car ride to school was quiet, she hadn't even bothered to turn her radio on, she just quietly drove thinking of her mother, how she was never satisfied with her, how her dad barely ever showed his face in there house, the only real thing Carly loved in that house was Snow, at that was pretty much it.

She pulled into the school parking lot and sat there in silence for a few moments while she still could. Carly had tried very hardly to recall the last time her mother ever even said 'I love you' to her. She sighed, her mom was a good woman she believed that, she just never acted like a mother towards her, more like a teacher or something like that.

After two minutes, Carly gotten out of the car, and walked into the school. This was her junior year, so she pretty much knew every spot in the school and where all her classes were when she looked who she had on her schedule a few days before.

She was hoping that she had most of her classes with her friends, since she felt most comfortable with them. When she looked up from the paper, she instantly saw one of her friends, Hayden.

He saw he was talking to his group of jocks he had played sports with, so she didn't want to interrupt.
She turned around halfway when she heard her name being called, and of course, she smiled as soon as she knew who the voice was from.

She turned back to see Hayden walking towards her with a big smile on his face.

Immediately without a second to waste, he gave her a giant bear hug, not caring that they were both standing right in the middle of the always.

"Hey, Hayden, could you lighten up a little bit I'm kinda dying over here," She choked out. He softened up, and stepping back apologizing at least 20 times.

They both laughed and stared at each others eyes. Carly had always secretly had a crush on Hayden, everything about him she absolutely adored and she would give anything to just simply be his, but she neither had the guts, nor did she want to ruin their friendship they had.

"I haven't seen you always summer, what have you been up to?" He asked curiously.

"Ah, nothing much, just been writing and mainly hanging out with Snow. What about you, Mr. Football Captain?" She said as she had a smile plastered to her face.

He laughed, "Not yet, try outs are next Friday, so until then I gotta be practicing and working my hardest."

"Well I'm sure you'll do amazing, anyway what class do you have first?" She asked politely.

"Math, you?"

"Looks like you're with me Angel Eyes, come on," She said grabbing his hand lightly and leading him towards their class.

Carly wondered as they walked, if this would finally be the year for something to happen between the two of them.

'Maybe one day' She thought.
