HORACE POV
Lets make this intro short and sweet. I AM BORED. Most days, it's fairly easy to keep yourself entertained. This might seem odd, since we relive the same day over and over, but that also means that we can do all sorts of things people outside of loops could never even try.
Point is, today has been slow. Everyone just has a bored energy to them. Luckily, Olive has lent me one of her Flash Gordon books, and I have been reading that in the sitting room for a while now. I wasn't really interested in the book, but it's better than being around the others right now. If I remember correctly, they have gotten so bored that they are now very invested in a game of 'Who can throw a ball at someones stomach the hardest.' Not quite my idea of fun.
YOUR POV
I was extremely bored, so I decided to go inside and find Horace. The others were fighting over how they should do Millard's makeup, and I really didn't feel like getting involved. I quickly found Horace in his usual spot in the sitting room, reading. Walking up behind him, I made sure to keep quiet as to not disturb him too much. Once I was right behind him, I slunk myself over the back of his chair so I was hovering above him.
"Howdy partner." He said in a stupid accent, not even looking up from his book.
"Horaaaceee." I whined
"Present."
"I'm BORED!"
"Yeah I figured."
"No I mean-"
"Hold that thought, love. This story is starting to get good."
I sighed, keeping my mouth shut. About seven silent seconds (say that 5 times fast) passed and I was bored again. Desperate for attention, I began playing with Horace's hair.
"Excuse me ma'am that hair took me an hour to do."
"Well I'm taking time out of my day to mess it up. The things I do for you..."
Horace chuckled and put his book down on a side table, not bothering to mark his page. He ran his hand through his hair, fixing as best he could, and got up.
"Actually..." He said, walking over to me. "I sacrifice a lot for you." Without warning, he picked me up and slung me over his shoulder as he stated to walk towards the kitchen.
"This is a weird Uber..." I joked.
"What's an Uber?"
"Nevermind."
He moved quickly through the kitchen, and I realized he was gonna head upstairs. I decided not to struggle, because apparently Horace has very comfy shoulders. Once we got to the staircase, Horace stopped. He put me down, and started walking up the stairs.
"Awww! That was fun! Why'd you put me down?"
"What kind of person do you think I am? I'm not Bronwyn. I can't carry you up the stairs."
"*le gasp* Did you just call me fat?"
"No I called myself weak."
"That's not true!" I laughed, catching up with him. He nodded and rolled his eyes once we got up the stairs. We parted ways and each went to our rooms to... Do stuff? I don't know why we even split up. But whatever, I guess. I'll just go bother him.
I jogged across the hall to Horace's door and knocked lightly. I heard Horace sigh and a creak when he rose from his bed. In a few mere moments the door opened. Horace leaned on the door, looking at me with annoyance.
"I'm sorry for bothering you, I guess. I thought you wanted to hang out but I can just go to my room if you want some alone time. I'm really sor-"
I was cut off by Horace grabbing my wrist and gently pulling me into his room. He chuckled and closed the door behind me with his foot while his arms crept around my waist. "It's fine, love." He whispered, giving me a peck on the temple.
"Don't get any ideas. You may be 80 years old, but you still have the body of a child." I giggled. Horace blushes furiously. "I-I wasn't thinking that! I'd never do that! Unless, well, unless you wanted to but-"
I shushed him. "Horace I know. I was just messing around." I said. Horace smiled and put his arms around me once again. Without hurting himself or me, he pulled us down onto his bed and we lied there together for a few minutes. I snuggled up into his chest and he happily let me do so. "I love you." He whispered, kissing me on the head. "I love you too." I replied.
We laid there for what felt like hours, just Horace holding me close to him and me listening to his heartbeat as his chest rose and fell with every breath he took. I wanted this moment to last forever, but all good things come to an end. In this case, that was Hugh and Millard bursting into the room and seeing us. We immediately shot up from the bed and begged them not to tell. The little boys smiled wickedly and ran off down the hall, while Horace and I chased them.
I couldn't ask for a better family.
