>> FORTH <<

It was supposed to be a peaceful day. I was already planning on sleeping in till noon, but it seemed like fate wasn't on my side.

"Ai'Forth!" I could feel my bed shaking, someone aggressively shaking my body along with it.

I groaned loudly in annoyance, but the shaking wouldn't stop.

"Shit, Ai'Forth! Wake up!" the voice shouted too close to my ear, making me feel like I would have gone deaf if it went a pitch higher.

"Shut the fuck up, Ai'Mond! I'm trying to sleep here!" I hugged the pillow I had in my arms and wrapped myself tightly with my duvet, hoping to stop the other's ministrations.

But my blanket was immediately tugged away from me.

"Keep trying, man," the culprit said as he snatched the fabric away from my reach. "It's already 7 o'clock. P'Prem will blow a fuse if we're even a minute late." That must be Ai'Lam. He was the only one who has the spare keys to my dorm room. But I gave it to him solely for emergencies and not to wake me up when all I wanted was to sleep. I was starting to regret my decision.

"Ai'Forth, wake up already. We're gonna be late because of you," another voice said, softer than the first ones but sharper. It was most likely to be Ai'Kai.

Unwillingly, I pushed myself to sit up and opened my eyes, blinking a few times to chase the drowsiness away, leaning my head against the bed's headboard and let out a loud yawn. "Do we really have to go this early?"

When my eyesight finally adjusted to the light of my room, it dawned on me that all three of my closest friends were there, at the edge of my bed, glaring at me impatiently. They were wearing our faculty's signature dark blue engineering jacket, paired off with some jeans and sneakers.

Oh right, forgot about that.

Today was the opening program initiated by the seniors for the freshmen in our faculty. Though the upperclassmen didn't have classes that day, we were still required to attend since it was a tradition that we welcome the new members of our faculty with vigor.

"If you still want to be the head hazer next year than you have to show yourself today," Ai'Lam countered. "You have to participate in the activities so that you'll be chosen for the position."

"I doubt that P'Kongpob will even choose me." Though there are a lot of other contenders, it was never really a secret that most of our batchmates wanted me to be the head hazer. I wanted it too, but it wasn't that easy. They can't simply appoint me as the leader just because I wanted it. I have to show the older hazers that I'm worthy for the title. I need to work my ass off first. Only time will tell if I get chosen since the senior head hazer will have the last say on the decision.

"And he wouldn't choose you if you don't get your ass out of bed," Ai'Kai said as he rolled his eyes at me. "Now hurry up!"

I could hear the other two laugh at my misery, as I dragged my heavy body off the bed to head to the bathroom. Kai might be small in stature, but he surely is loud. To get on his bad side wasn't a smart move.

I didn't take long to get ready, much to the guys' amusement. After getting my stuff and making sure to lock the door before we left, we head on out to the university. Thanks to Ai'Lam's excellent driving skills, we arrived at the faculty building just in time before the festivities started. I didn't bring my precious bike with me since I was slightly disoriented, so we used Lam's car instead; he was driving, Kai was riding shotgun, while Mond and I were at the back seat.
