The  students awaited the next lecture , their bright eyes shining with anticipation and fear.

They knew the next lecture would be something out of the blue;you never knew what to expect.

The lecturer entered, his eyes gleaming with anger as he surveyed the entire lot of students. He ordered them peremptorily to wish him a very good afternoon and the students obliged.

Without wasting any time, he began his lecture;not before informing them; that they had to be on their best behaviour at all times as well as read the given content for the subsequent session.

The teacher seemed like a Gorgon to them. if the students blinked,or shook their leg or just shifted uneasily; they would be given a harsh talking to. The man's eyes would glint with rage at the slightest disturbance.

The lesson;however was brillliant and exciting. The students began to see the subject in a whole new perspective after listening to the lecture.

Days went by, and the man grew less severe as the students strove hard to attain approval.

However, short tempered as he was; a small disturbance would make him turn the class into a mini concentration camp. There were times he reduced a student to tears and walked out of the class due to failure of the students to answer a question

There was a time he even threatened to quit. He had done it before; this was nothing new. The entire class of 80 odd students flooded the office to offer their apologies after which he reluctantly conceded to enter.

Soon,a student grew tired of the entire rigmarole and quit the course.

Once the darling of teachers and parents alike, a fractured friendship had lead to her ostracism in society.

She had hope that better days would arrive yet that hope turned into hopelessness. She now was apathetic, had not a care in the world for any person. She realized that the world was filled with domineering idiots.

She thus lead a peaceful life, within her sanctuary;her home.

Soon, she realized religion was her calling. She converted to Christianity; and lead  a peaceful life in the nunnery away from the rat race.

Amen.
