Lake's POV
*RING* *RING*
Ugh. I slammed my hand onto my clock to shut it up, and sat up very slowly.
I felt a bit dizzy and yawned, starting to remember my weird encounter last night.
Ugh ew, I was so tired that I wasn't thinking at all. She's probably some two-faced brat like the rest of the pretty ones.
Speaking of her, I look over to Jessica's side of the room and it's empty but neat.
I start to get out of bed but halfway through, I see a little arrangement on my bedside table. It's an un-opened bottle of water, a granola bar, a thin packet, and a note.
I hesitantly rub my eyes and grab the note, holding it close to my face so I can read it.
In an extremely neat font, it reads:
Good morning Lake,
I apologize for cutting your working time short last night. Your sleeping habits have been quite alarming recently. I decided that you need to take some time for yourself. I have contacted your professors and told them you had fallen ill. Take today to rest and have fun!
Oh yes, speaking of your essay, the rough draft is beside this letter. I hope you like it because I already typed it out on a flash drive and turned it in!
Have a fun day! Maybe you could go outside for once ;)
Love, Jessica Harrison
I slowly put the letter down and felt my heart drop.
WHAT IF MY PROFESSORS FIND OUT I'M FINE AND GIVE ME MORE WORK??
I read the draft and it's..
brilliant.
How is it so good? She only had like, 5 minutes to write.
Oh no.
WHAT IF THEY FIND OUT IT'S NOT MINE AND I GET IN SERIOUS TROUBLE FOR CHEATING AND I-
"Lake, shut up" I mumble to myself
I ate the granola bar and drank the water, feeling slightly better.
I read the last statement again and laughed to myself
"I'll never go outside" I thought to myself triumphantly
I sighed at my miserable self as I laid back down and closed my eyes
This is satisfying...
Soon, all I could see in my mind is that font,
"Love, Jessica Harrison"
Author's Note: This is my first ever story! I hope you guys are enjoying because I only write this after 10pm on school nights... yee yee
