"Warren!" I turned to the person calling my name. Breaking out in a full grin, I caught Kasey in my arms, spinning her around. Her carefree laughter rang in my ears, calming down to soft giggles as I set her down.

"Hey beautiful, how was your weekend," I said, laying a soft kiss on her cheek. She playfully shoves me away.

Kasey is my "girlfriend".

I say it like that because technically, we're no longer together. We started dating sophomore year but towards the end of junior year, I just didn't feel that same spark with her anymore. The feeling was mutual and we quietly broke it off.

But keep it up for just appearances.

If anything, she was my best friend that liked nagging me to find a real girlfriend.

"Just because we didn't work, doesn't mean you won't work out with someone else," she would always tell me.

"It was alright, my mom was wondering when you're gonna come over again," she chuckled.

"Well, today's Friday so I can stay for awhile tonight," I laughed. She smiled and held my hand as we walked to our history class. History was a boring subject for me but I had to take it if I want to graduate.

Insert eye roll here.

Thankfully, it's the last class of the day. As we walked to class, some people waved at both of us. Some guys came up to clap me up, some girls came to hug Kasey. A lot of girls were gushing over how cute we look together and how lucky we are to be together. Tch, if only they knew we're just friends.

We reached our class just as the bell rang. Kasey and I sat right next to each other near the front of the room. More students filed into the room, taking their respective seats. Just as the final bell rang, our history teacher, Mr. Ackerson, walked in.
