If It Wasn't You

Sorry for the lack of update but heres a one-shot instead for the upcoming Halloween.

You're currently taking shelter from the rain as you wait for the incoming bus. After 30 minutes of waiting, the bus finally arrives and as soon as you got in, you decided to sit at the very back taking the window seat overlooking the streets and building lights that seemed more like neon lights created by the blurry reflection caused by the raindrops hitting and dropping off the window. The sound of the raindrops hitting the window also provided an aesthetic feeling and a sense of calmness.

After a quiet but yet a serene ride, you finally reached your destination, which is the intersection near your apartment building. Luckily the rain stopped right before you got off the bus but you can still smell the faint scent of the earth after the rain.

Today also happens to be payday so you decided to drop by the supermarket to buy some groceries and supplies as you usually do every after paycheck.

In the middle of browsing and what felt like walking endlessly from isle to isle, you felt a soft vibration from your right pocket caused by your phone. You immediately took your phone out and looked to see an incoming call from your cousin which you immediately answered.

"Hey (C/N) what's happenin'?"

"What do you mean "What's happenin?' How are you so calm! The surprise proposal for Jeongyeon is finally next week! You're spearheading the planning remember? I called to make sure the plan and everything else is alright" Your cousin hisses at you.

"Calm down. I wouldn't be this relaxed if I haven't done anything. I already got everything planned out, we just need to buy the stuff that we need for the surprise and arrange them before the proposal takes place. It shouldn't take too long to sort out" You answered.

"Okay sorry, like I said just making sure."

"Chillax. This is for Jeongyeon after all. I'm gonna make sure that this will be memorable and special for her."

"Alright man, call us when you're ready so we can help you buy the things that you need and also when you need those stuff set up."

"Yep got it. Talk to you later."

After your phone call with your cousin, you decided to finish gathering your groceries and went towards the nearest cashier to pay and went straight home.

As soon as you got home, you sorted out the groceries and supplies that you have bought. After arranging your things, you went towards the living room and worked on your gift for Jeongyeon.

Unbeknownst to Jeongyeon and your closest friends, you made a simple yet meaningful gift for her, which is a photo binder that you created yourself that contains a collection of polaroid pictures, from recent, to the ones that you have saved over the years.

What made this photo binder more special is the fact it also signifies the growth that you two had over the years. You had some photos that are reenactment of some moments from the past and had them placed next to each other. These assortment of photos that you and Jeongyeon together made you smile and you wished to the heavens that she would treasure it forever.

This gift made you realize how long you and Jeongyeon have been together. Through the thick and thins, all the small arguments that escalated into huge ones that got to the point where the two of you have not spoken for days and lastly, being the inseparable best of friends since childhood.

Few days later, you decided to head off to the mall to buy formal clothes not only for the wedding but for the proposal as well. After purchasing your attire, you called (C/N) to help you buy all the stuff that you need for the surprise.
