SICKENING ( TWO! )DRAWN INTO THE STARS WAS ETERNAL DESPAIR.
misery would color in the lines of destiny, and as GAEUN pushed her fingertips to align with the sky's fate, she could feel the shiver blowing within her as the cold pressed against her skin.
she felt the urge to pull away, to let go of her heart and her head, but the longer she kept her hands matched to the nightly sky, the more it seemed as if she was destined to fall from the very beginning.
that happy endings were never built with the way she was to live. instead, nightmares and fire haunted her dreams and days, and she was to never escape them. moments of sweetness were false hope, only leading to further demise.
to her, GAEUN was the exact human symbol of bad luck, and with its label running across her forehead, she couldn't help but scoff at the fact that she had once thought she was meant to be happy.
"EUN, you look desperate again."
MINA pulls down her hood further, almost as if to hide the burning eyes that were too easy to fall for.
GAEUN had always been jealous, that while both were soft spoken and afraid of the world, it always seemed that MINA was made a shining star. that even in her dark moments, her downcast eyes glimmered and her fractured laugh beauty to the ears.
GAEUN once loved that part of MINA too, but the longer she stared at it, the more her own heart rotted at how disgusting the thought of herself was. GAEUN, on the other hand, was sensitive, stubborn and fragile.
her fingers too pudgy, her clothes too big, her face too wide, her smile too idiotic, her personality too ugly, her mind too anxious, her heart too foolish and broken.
GAEUN, for a second, wished she could be MINA.
after all, everyone loved MINA.
"i'm not desperate," GAEUN starts, softly.
"i mean, i was a few days ago when i begged him to go out with me again. big mistake though."
MINA nods in agreement, an exhausted breath touching her lips. her eyes glance sideways to watch her friend's face, taking it in before pulling her eyes back to her own empty hands.
