Chapter 2

"What a mess"

Along the way Adrien kept asking her questions. It was as if he couldnt get enough of her. He needed to know more.

- How many houses do you clean a week?

-I used to clean four, but now only one, I also have a part-time job. - she felt proud. Not a lot of people could handle full time school and two side jobs. But she needed the money and she was raised to never give up.

-You keep yourself busy. - Sarah smiled. - How do you study, socialize and go out with your boyfriend? -He asked without realizing. He struck himself mentally for using the oldest pick up line in the world. What are you 18? On the other hand, Sarah made fun of herself. She dumped her boyfriend two years ago, when she discovered his secret. Since then she had decided to be single.

-I dont have a boyfriend. - She answered looking away. For some reason, Adrien was relieved to hear her say that she was single.

-Its impossible to believe, youre very beautiful ... – Again, he had said the first thing that had come to mind.

-Thank you. - She accepted the compliment. -You ... you're handsome too. - she studdered . They both laughed embarrassed. He noticed that she played with her fingers when she was nervous. On the other hand, Sarah hoped he wouldn't ask her about her other job. Its not that she was ashamed, but people dont really understand why she liked her job. If he knew, he would probably think she's crazy. That's why she and Adalene got along so well. She didnt judge anyone.

- So? - Sarah looked confused. - Why don't you have a boyfriend?

-Let's say that I am taking a break from all of it ... I left a somewhat complicated relationship.

-I get it.

- You? Have you not gone out with anyone after your wife?

-No. Let's say that I am also in a break. -Sarah felt a little sad. It's not that she didn't want to go out on dates or even have a boyfriend, it's just that she hadn't had luck with men, everyone ended up treating her like shit. She couldnt imagine how it must feel for him. Loosing the love of your life, and then What? You are supposed to move on with your life? It was just too sad to think about it.

Once they arrived at the apartment, Adrien parked the car and insisted on accompanying her to her door. On the way from the car to the door they got into a conversation about literature. He couldn't believe how smart she was on the subject.

- Would you like to come in for some coffee? Or maybe a beer? - She invited him.

-A beer doesn't sound bad.

-Well good, because I can really go for ... Ady! – She was making out on the sofa with a blonde guy.

-Sarah ... - She hurriedly threw over her shirt. - I didn't know you would be home so soon. This is awkward

- What the hell? - Adrien couldnt believe his eyes.

-Adri ... brother ... it's not what you think. - spoke the blonde guy.

- Oh really? And what am I thinking? That you take advantage of my sister when Im not around? Im going to kill you!

- Oh please, Adrien! Dont be so dramatic.

-Noel- He called him by his middle name- We should talk ... - Adrien took him by the neck.

- No! -Adalene shouted- Stop being an ass!

Everything happened very fast. Sarah approached Adrien trying to stop them while they both insulted and beat each other. Adrien, blinded by anger twisted his arm in an abrupt motion trying to release Sarah's grip and ended up punching her in the mouth.
