Chapter 10 - Help

It was later the night and Maya was at her apartment.
Her mother wasn't home yet so she had just been relaxing.
Her mother comes through the door and it was clear that she was drunk.
Maya wasn't used to her mother drinking so when it did happen she got really scared.

But not this time.
She wasn't scared, she was just...
She wasn't sure how to act.
She was confused.
She took a deep breathe and took a cup out of the cupboard.
She poured in strong coffee and gave the cup to her mother.

Maya didn't actually react to very much of what her mother was saying.
It was mostly mumbling so she didn't understand it anyway.
Maya saw how her mother reached for her handbag and went to get a glass of water.
Suddenly she got the scare of her life when she hears a trigger and turned around.

Her mother was laying on the ground while her head was bleeding.
Maya saw the gun and immediately realized what is going on.

"Mom!" Maya screamed and grabbed a cloth.

Maya tried to stop the bleeding.
The blood was streaming out without any stop and Maya couldn't stop it.
Tears were streaming down Maya's face and everything was covered in blood.
The floor, Katy, Maya self.
Maya suddenly grabbed her phone and called Riley.
She didn't answer.

"Pick up. Okay. Um..."

Maya tried to stay calm while she ha dno idea what to do.
Her mother was busy dying in front of her and she couldn't stop it.
She then grabbed the house phone and called to the Matthews house.

The phone was ringing and Josh stood up from where he was playing with Auggie.

"Matthews house. Josh speaking."
"Josh. I... I need your help. My mom..."
"Whoa Maya. Take a breathe. What is going on?" Josh asked while Maya didn't say a word.
"Maya what is going on? Are you hurt?"
"My mom shot herself," Maya said and Josh got a scare.
"Stay right there. I'm on my way. Cory!"

"What's going on?" Cory asked.
"Call the ambulance. Maya's mother was shot. Hurry. I'll meet the people at Maya's place," Josh said and grabbed his car keys.

He rushed over to Maya's apartment and got the information.
It didn't seem like anyone did hear the shot so he was unsure if it was true.
The paramedics came as well and they all rushed to the apartment number.

Maya was still trying to stop the bleeding when Josh and the paramedics came there.

"We have it Miss. Ma'am can you hear me?" the paramedic asked.
"She's lost a lot of blood. I don't know what happened. She..."
"Okay calm down. Are you okay?" Josh asked and Maya nodded in shock.
"There is still a pulse. We're taking both of you to the hospital. Come."
"Josh," Maya said and Josh stood next to her.
"Don't worry. I'll go with you guys. Let's go."
