I was more than nervous to meet Chase's parents.

So nervous I was making myself sick.

Chase insisted on waiting a few months after we started dating for me to meet his folks but it's been a little over two years now and I still haven't met them.

Sometimes I blame the fact that Chase is always busy with touring. Or sometimes I'm too preoccupied with my studies that I can't even call him. I try to go to as many shows I can possible but sometimes I feel like it's not enough. We've argued numerous times about it. Me always telling him how he deserves more and could do better, to find someone else and him always demanding me to never speak those words again because he cares so much about me.

"Kayla, I'm not going to say this again. My parents can't wait to meet you, honest. Quit worrying," he spoke softly into the phone.

I had him on speaker so I could talk to him as I get ready as did he have me on speaker so he could talk to me as he drove to pick me up. We were going to his house for a big spaghetti dinner his mom has prepared. He insisted on picking me up instead of letting me drive there. He said it would be more fitting if we arrived together.

"I don't know Chase..." I sighed as I slid on my shoes.

"Don't I don't know Chase me. Okay? Now come downstairs so I could see that pretty face I've missed for so long." He said sweetly in an attempt to calm my nerves which kinda took my mind off things.

"Goodbye Chase." I laughed playfully before hanging up.

I grabbed my jacket off the back of my chair and made my way down the staircase and out the front door without saying a word to my roommates that sat in the living room watching some Nicholas Sparks movie from 2010. Chase leaned against his black mustang in very comfortable clothing and I instantly felt overdressed. He wore pair of gray sweatpants and a white T-shirt that fit him tightly and I wore black skinny jeans and a white blouse that looked very formal.

"Wow. Even more beautiful than I remembered," he says as he makes his way over to me.

He crashed his lips against mine and we stood together for a while. This was a I haven't seen you in over 6 months kinda kiss. I've missed him a lot so when he broke the kiss I felt my stomach clench and my lips began to ache for his again.

"You ready?" he said as he pulled me over to the passenger side.

He opened the door without even waiting for my response, not that my anxiety would let me answer him anyways. I got inside and let the seat belt constrict me into the seat.

The whole ride to his house, Chase rambled on about tour and all the different places he ate at and the people he met as well as really awkward fan experiences.

"At first I was like 'Wow this girl is so adorable.' But then she stuck her finger in my ear and started rubbing my earlobe. Like what the heck? It was so weird," he laughed.

"But then this one girl gave me a wedgie, I cried oh gosh. My fans are such weirdos, I love them."

"Says the guy who eats shredded cheese with powdered donuts!" I scoff.

We both laugh in unison. The car suddenly comes to a stop and I look up to see that we're in his driveway. Suddenly all my nerves came back like a tidal wave. I begin to breathe heavily as they drown me in their deep waters.

"Babe it's okay," Chase says calmly as he reaches for my hand. He entangles his fingers in mine before kissing my fingers one by one. My stomach relaxes just slightly but I still don't feel ready to go inside. We get out the car and walk up to the front door.

"They'll love you, I promise."

He kisses my cheek softly before ringing the door bell. I felt my palms sweat against the inside of Chase's. I wasn't sure if they'd approve or disapprove of me, if they'd like me or not. I just want people to like me, my whole life that was all I wanted. And his parents judgment is the most important thing in the world right now. I have to make a good impression, if not that's how they will always see me.

The door swung open and his mother stood in the doorway with her arms open as she pulled me into a hug.

"Oh Kayla sweetie it's so nice to finally meet you! My names Bev but you could call me mom!" She exclaimed as swayed the hug from side to side.

The little blonde woman pulled back and looked at me before pulling me back into the hug. I saw a small man out the corner of my eye holding a tiny reddish orange dog. Both very quiet and watching as Chase's mom nearly suffocates me.

"Bev let the girl go. Don't scare her away before we even get to know her," the man chuckles.

She pulls away from the hug and smiles at me. Chase's father puts the dog down and makes his way over towards me and the dog to Chase. This was the famous Bowser that Chase would always show me pictures of.

"I'm Gene, it's nice to finally meet you."

Chase's dad hugged me briefly and then we made our way into the house. I realized that I was overreacting just a bit. Dinner went well and I finally had Chase back as well as his parents approval.

His parents both hugged me goodbye as Chase and I made our way out the house.

"Come back anytime sweetie. Don't be a stranger," Bev smiles as Chase pulled me out the door.

"Okay. Goodnight Mrs. Goehr- I mean mom," I say as I wave to her.

Once we got in the car, Chase turned to me and kissed me. It was sudden and unexpected but I didn't want it to end. I missed him so much so I held onto him for as long as I could.

"I told you they'd love you," he breathes in between the kiss.

"And I love you."

"I love you too Chase."
