It was another typical night at the Drunken Knight, closing time had almost arrived, a lot of people were still in the pub though.

I cleaned the counter one last time and decided to just chill for a while. I grabbed a cold bottle of beer and made my way to the old-school jukebox that was literally the nicest thing in the place. As I stood in front of it, I felt a body standing right next to mine, I looked at the guy and I immediately noticed that he looked nothing like the men that were usually coming to the pub. He was young, and he looked so unique, he could be a rockstar.

"Um hello!" he said in his thick Yorkshire accent and showed me his big smile.

"Hi?" I exclaimed.

"I was about to put on a song, but go ahead, ladies first!" he laughed and I shaked my head.

"Ladies first? What is that supposed to mean!?" I asked with an attitude.

"Oh man.. I was trying to be polite.. Fook you're right, I'll just go first!"

"No.. I'll go first!" I said and took a coin out of my pocket, he rolled his eyes.

I picked a song and soon enough the music of 'She said she said' by The Beatles started playing.

"I was seriously going to put on the same song.." the guy said and I sighed.

"Sure.." I exclaimed and started walking away, while sipping my beer.

"I fookin swear! This is mental!" the boy followed me.

"Shush! Can you just let me enjoy the song?" I asked and started slow dancing in the middle of the room.

"I said, who put all those things in your head? Things that make me feel that I'm mad. And you're making me feel like I've never been born." the guy started singing along with John Lennon. He had a really good voice, had to admit.

I fastly took my eyes of off him, and just focused on the song, ignoring his presence.

When the song finished I casually started walking away, till I made it to the bar counter.

I grabbed my jacket from the coat stand and put it on and then took my bag in my hands.

"So are you going to leave me, just like that?!?" I heard his voice again and looked across the counter.

"Omg.. You're annoying, I'm sure you have heard that before!" I raised my eyebrow.

"Fook yeah, another cool adjective to add to my CV." he smiled big once again.

"Good for you!" I exclaimed and I started walking. In a blink of an eye the boy jumped on the counter and I looked at him goggle-eyed.

"What are you doing!?!" I asked annoyed. "I'm gonna have to clean this freakin counter again.. Thanks a lot." I rolled my eyes and tried to push him off of the counter.

"I just want to entertain people, love!" he exclaimed and laughed.

"Oh you sure do... We'll call you if we ever decide to hire a clown.."

"So you do want my number!" he shouted and people looked at us.

"Yeah sure, I want it, so I can burn it!" I fake smiled at him.

"You're fookin funny! It's okay, I'll give it to you!" he winked and jumped off the counter. He grabbed a pen and a notepad that there was on top of it and wrote on the white paper.

"There you go, love!" he said and leaned over the counter, I grabbed the notepad and flashily threw it in a drawer.

"Bye." I said and walked to the exit.

The next day I went to the pub earlier than usual, cause we had some type of an audition for musicians. My father wanted to have some live music on the weekends, so he wanted me to be there to help him pick a band.

"Okay make sure we pick the best ones!" my dad said as we walked out of the backroom and I nodded.

"Fuck. What is he doing here?!" I whisper-yelled.

"Who?" my father asked confused.

"That person.." I said and looked at the guy I had met the other night.

"Excuse me? Who are you?" my father shouted at the guy and he immediately looked at us.

"I'm Dominic Harrison.. You called me like two hours ago..." the boy said and then gave me a satanic smile.

"How the hell did you call him?" I asked my father annoyed.

"I don't know.. His number was in the drawer with the rest of the band members' numbers.."

"Oh for God's sake...." I rolled my eyes.

"Let's just give him a chance..!" my dad exclaimed and we walked closer to the musicians.

"You guys can start singing for us!" he spoke loud enough for them to hear him, and the first band went up to the small stage next to the bar counter.

A few bands later, it was time for the annoying guy to sing, he had two friends with him and they all went on the stage.

"So we're going to sing an original.." he spoke through the microphone.

"Oh you write music?" my dad asked impressed.

"Yeah... My fellas help me a lot with it,  hope I can sign a record deal someday!"

"Oh! Let us hear you.." my dad said in excitement.

The other two guys started playing their instruments, and the boy from yesterday grabbed the microphone and started singing.
His lyrics were catchy, and the rhythm of the song was cool, he could definitely make it big... If he wasn't that annoying.

"They're good.. Like really good!" my dad whispered at me.

"Don't you dare hire them... Pick the guy that played the banjo!" I groaned and that's when the song finished.

"You're hired!" my father shouted and I gave him a death glare.

"Really?!?!" I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, really?!" the guy repeated what I had just said and grinned at me.

"Yeah you guys rock!" my dad said and stood up.

"Oh thank you! Happy that we'll work with you.. and your..?" the guy said to my father and then glanced over at me.

"My daughter.. That's my daughter, River!" my dad exclaimed.

"Nice to meet you River, call me Dom!" the boy shouted and I facepalmed.
