You let out a sigh as you walked through the store, looking at costumes. So far, this was the third store you'd been in today, and there still wasn't anything that you liked. Just when you were prepared to 'storm out' out the store, you phone went off. You smiled seeing that YOHIO was calling you. Bringing the phone to your ear, you answered his call.

"_____? Where are you?" He asked.

Letting out another sigh, you told him where you were, and how you'd been spending almost the whole day looking for a costume. After a few more minutes of talking, you hung up the phone and left the store to meet him.

Walking down the sidewalks, you could see into the small stores. Halloween costumes and decorations filled their windows with 'sale' signs on the doors. As you came close to the building where YOHIO was working that day, he called you again.

"_____? Are you here yet?" He asked.

"Um, I'm right outside. I'm coming in right now." You answered, getting a strange vibe from the tone of his voice.

"Oh, okay... I'll see you in a minute." He said before quickly hanging up.

Walking into 'his side' of the building you looked around. Things seemed strangely quiet and empty. There wasn't even anyone there. Stepping into a small room, you turned on the dim lighting.

Then, you heard a raspy breathe come from behind you. You quickly turned around and saw a face covered in bloody cuts close to you. You let out a cry as you fell to the ground as you tripped stepping back. Only when this 'zombie' let out a laugh did you realize who it was: it was YOHIO.

Moving his hand to a second panel of light switches, he turned on more lights to brighten the room. He continued to laugh as he held his hand out to help you up. You angrily pushed his hand back as you brought yourself to your feet. "That wasn't funny!" You growled at him.

"Aw," He started, "Come on, _____. It was just a joke." He obviously did not understand how bad he had actually scared you. That smile of his that normally got him out of trouble with you didn't work with the make-up he had on, it actually made things a bit worse.

"You scared me!" You said in a much firmer tone, hoping to get your point across. A moment of silence passed before you let out a 'huff' before you pushed past him to leave. It was only then did he realize how bad he had frightened you.

"_____?" He called out as he followed you into the 'lobby' area, but you were gone. Catching his reflection in the glass window he sighed, "Maybe I went a bit too far with the make-up..."

Walking back to your place, you steadied your breathing. As you looked into the store windows once more, and saw some of the decorations having a 'playful scare' tone, then you felt that you overreacted. You stopped walking and looked behind you. "I guess... I should go apologize..." You said to yourself, even though he should be the one apologizing.

Stepping into the building once more, you noticed that all of the lights were now on. Just as you were about to call for him, you heard him. "Ow!" You immediately became worried and followed the sound of his voice. "Too much this time..." You heard him talking to himself.

Looking around a corner to a dressing room, you saw him sitting in front of a mirror trying to take off the make-up he had put on. You watched him try to peel off a fake wound that he had glued onto his face. This seemed like a perfect example of karma.

He seemed unaware of you, even when you stepped into the room. The mixture of peeling off the make-up piece and guilt he felt about earlier was distracting him. And then, you saw your chance.

With him so preoccupied, you managed to sneak behind a corner that was close to him. Even though you didn't have any scary make-up or costume on, the suddenness of a 'jump scare' could be enough to get some revenge.

Once he finally got off a second piece off of his face, he leaned back in his chair. After taking a deep breath, he got up and moved in your direction. You managed to hold in a laugh as he drew closer to the corner.

A silent countdown started in you head:

3...

2...

1!

"Ha!" You shouted as you jumped out from behind the corner. You managed to scare him! But, he wasn't nearly as scared, or at least as loud as you had been earlier.

A hushed curse word left his mouth he stepped back, eyes wide with his breath almost caught in his throat. This time, it was your turn to laugh. And, oh, did you laugh.

A small glare crossed his face before his mood quickly changed and he smiled at you. "I guess I deserved that." He said, a small chuckle following. You nodded at him before noticing that some parts of his face were red from where he had peeled off the make-up pieces. Noticing your concern, he touched part of his cheek, "These pieces have been tough to take off..."

Another opportunity presented itself. "Y-YOHIO," You said, "You're bleeding!"

"What?" He said, turning back to the mirror to check himself.

"Hold still," You said, moving closer to him. He turned his head towards you as you raised your hands to his face. And then, in one swift motion, you ripped off another piece.

He let out a louder cry than he had earlier, stepping away from you as he held his cheek. "_____!" He said, looking back to you.

"Well," You said with a smirk on your face, "Maybe next time you shouldn't scare me."
