Alison strutted down the long entrance hall of Rosewood High, her head held high. She lived for this feeling. Everyone's eyes were on her, like always. Boys who wanted just the mere shot of dating her, girls who were sneakily envious of her, and freaks who were still struggling to get over a lewd yet witty comment she had barked at them weeks ago. She felt superb as she marched to the sound of her heels click-clacking on the linoleum floor, her hair perfectly in place and her outfit fitting her impeccably.

Sure, some aspects of her life were pretty damn horrendous as of now. Jason was still holed up in his room, only opening the door for Alison every once in a while, and they talked sometimes, but she could never convince him to get out or even see the light of day. He even started covering his windows with newspapers nowadays, and Alison felt so bad for him that she let him play his loud metal music without uttering a word about it.

Then there was the fact that her father's millionth business trip was running longer than expected, and her mother barely spent any time home, so it made sense that she was wondering if they were a family only on Christmas cards and in charity events. Since when was Jason the one she trusted the most in her family, anyway?

Not to mention, A has yet to reply to Spencer and she was pretty sure that this radio-silence from them was just the quiet before the storm.

But on the other hand, some things were going along amazingly, overriding the terrible things.

No reply from A meant no texts from A at all. They were leaving the girls alone for the meantime it seemed, and Alison knew she should be scared but she wasn't, she was actually excited at the prospect of having a few decent days to be herself.

During this quiet weekend, her and the girls even went to watch a movie, only the five of them, just like old times. Emily had been on one side of her and Spencer on the other. When she wasn't laying her head on Emily's shoulder and whispering flirty things in her ear, successfully getting the girl to fidget before she would cutely try to flirt back, she was exchanging commentary with Spencer about the movie, finally noticing just how similar they were in their core.

Now, as Ali passed by Triple Nipple, the girl stared at her sourly, which only made the blonde smirk in amusement as she continued on. That girl once threw a muffin at her, but she was overall harmless.

On the other side of the hall was Hermie. He was standing with his arms crossed next to Loser Mona, who, for some reason, was looking at her in the eye. Cindy and Mindy, or as Alison once called them, the Gayrons, came from around the corner and stood next to Mona. A few other losers assembled around the girl, creating a rather large group of Ali-haters.

Alison frowned in suspicion, but before she could approach the hideous group of wannabes, she was yanked backward by the arm, her mouth being covered brutally by someone's hand, and she tried to scream but all that was heard was a muffled cry. She was being dragged away from the group of her tormented victims, and someone or something was pulling her harshly as her feet barely scratched the surface of the ground, leaving her helpless.

As everyone's eyes remained on yet they continued to do absolutely nothing, she tried to turn around to see who was doing this to her, but just as she attempted to move her head, she felt something strong and so sharp hit her on the back the head. It stung awfully and she wanted to shriek in pain, but the hand was still blocking her mouth, and her vision began getting hazy.

Just as she was being tugged roughly like some roadkill out of the school, the doors opened and the sunlight hit her directly in the face, and everything suddenly went black.

Alison opened her eyes with a gasp, her heart racing faster than it ever had before. Her eyes flew around the room only to find that it was indeed hers, and it took her a second to comprehend that it has all been a dream. A very, very realistic dream. She struggled to realize that everything about it had been correlating with her life right now - Jason was staying in his room, she and the girls did go watch a movie, it was all real events - and the physical sensations she had experienced in it felt more tangible that real-life actions, so much so, that she wondered if it was normal for her subconscious to be able to create such a cruel and vivid image in her mind.
