On The Run

Run. Run. Run.

My heart pounded against my chest as the sound of my feet harshly made repetitive contact against the wet concrete.

I couldn't breath and felt like I'd pass out any minute, but with all this adrenaline coursing through my veins I didn't stop. It was either keep running or get caught.

There was a mole in our data base, in our group and now all my friends were either dead or caught.

Rain continued to pour down, continuously. Hopefully my laptop and equipment would be fine. Hopefully this rain would slow down the mafia and the police.

I need help. I need a safe haven to go to, but I'm sure other hackers know I'm wanted and now they won't help me.

Maybe BTS Hackers or MONSTA X Hackers could help. They're infamous, feared hackers. They could help, but they could still be angry with me leaving.

Shit.

I guess one can say this is what I get for working for the mafia, but what else was I supposed to do? Live on the streets? With a brain like mines? I don't think so.

I turn to check my surroundings and it seems I've lost the mafia and police... for now. There's a couple of abandoned warehouses around. I could use that as shelter.

I run in, slamming the heavy metal doors shut.

Sliding down on the floor I pull my laptop and equipment out of my back pack and see that it's not damaged.

Plugging in all the cords up to my laptop I began hacking into Monsta X Database.

End Convo Chat

Taking a deep breath I start hacking, finding my way into a back door I left in Jin's software a long time ago, but guessing how long it was taking, he found it and closed it.

Shit.

The tapping of the keyboard echo throughout the warehouse. My eyes jumped from the screen of the computer and the time on my watch, 4 minutes left. Trying not to panic, I finally got into the back foot avoiding his firewalls and viruses.

I can't let him slip through my fingers. They're going to find me and kill me, please let me find Jin.

An error signed popped up on the screen, in big red letters costing me a few needed seconds.

I have to find my friends. I need to save them, but I have to save myself first. And so I will.

"Come on." I muttered, hands shaking in fear of the time running out before I get his location.

1 minute left.

A map of the city popped up onto the screen, quickly re zooming in closer and closer to his location. And the it my laptop bleeped. The address.

3348 Molten Rd, Factory Building.

He was in the hidden loft.

Erasing and destroying my information and usage from this location, I set the microchips on fire watching them burn before they turned into gooey plastic to harden in minutes.

Packing my laptop and equipment up, I scope the area out before leaving, going back out into the dark night, the punishing rain and clasping thunder feeling the air.

Here I come.
-

Hood over my head, and backpack tight secured onto my back, I make my way to Jin's haven, going through alley ways and avoiding cameras and pedestrians.

When I make it to the seemingly abandoned warehouse, I pull my phone out and have all the security systems in and around the building, giving myself at least 4 minutes to get to the top floor, into safety.

And I run.

Making my way down the first floor hallway into the stairway. Now the hard part was getting up to the 10th floor in three minutes.

I know the cameras and security will have a one minute reboot giving me an extra minute. Skipping the steps two at a time I make my way up and up, finally getting to the top, then my watch beeps indicating the cameras and system is coming back online.

Thirty seconds.

Pushing my legs as fast and hard as I can I spot the familiar door and burst through it, thanking for it being unlocked, due to the reboot.

I throw myself on the ground, slamming the door shut.

I look up to find the loft in pure pitch darkness. I stand up to look around only to hear the sound of a gun click and be placed firmly in the back of my head.

"Seokjin. Jin... it's me." I calmly say, holding my arms up as I slowly turn around to be met with my savior.
