"Hurry up your gonna be late"
This is how everyday started for me. No 'good morning' or 'did you sleep well?', just constant complaints of if and when I will be late for something. Monday to Friday every week is school then weekends are always non-stop work. When everybody else is hanging out or living it up, I'm just stuck ...
Living with both parents, brothers and sisters seems like the dream for people but actually being able to live a life surrounded by family is like living hell. No privacy. Battling for food. Dying for attention. Even though you know that they truly love you (even if it's deep deep way down somewhere) they can still be a pain that can't be removed with a few tablets of paracetamol.
For a single moment when you wake up, you remember nothing, feel no pain and stand for your hopes and dreams. But it all comes back. The aches, the memories, the mountains you still have to climb. Reality is just the torture of fantasy.
"I wont tell you again Beth, get up"
Oh yeah, I'm Beth. Beth May. 16 and living in sunny California. I'm a junior at Reeton High. My life has completely sucked since the moment we moved here from England. School has to be the worst of it all, everyone stares at me like I'm an outsider, some sort of freak that doesn't belong. Back in England, being a nerd was a good thing and everyone looked up to you. What makes it so different here?
I've been living here with my family for the past three years and the only other person I have is Jenna. She's like another sister to me, with her frizzy brown hair and lightly tanned skin, anyone could be jealous of her. If she wanted to she could be the Queen Bee with her perfect figure and stuck up attitude but as she says "no girl should shake her pom-poms for attention".
Anyway where was I. Right, shower, dress, brush hair, brush teeth and prepare for hell.
Since my parents wont get me a car like any other teenager, I'm stuck walking to school unless Jenna picks me up. I'm nowhere near fit to walk two miles a day so I'm always nearly late to school. At least there is one upside to practically being late. Will. The hottest and nerdiest guy ever to be seen at school. He's star quarterback and basketball captain. But he's number one mathlete and science god. Guys want to be him and girls want to be with him.
The only problem is, under his charming smile and heart melting abs, he's Reeton Highs biggest player. He pulls every trick in the book to get a new girl every week leaving the used behind.
But what Will doesn't know is, I know his biggest secret ...
