1~Summertime

I Practically sprinted out of school smiling my ass off as the chatter around me escalated

The summer air made its way in and out of my lungs making my whole body feel warm

I smiled as the sun shone brighter in the  open air around me

My backpack was filled with books that when forced in there, I seriously felt like I had a turtle shell on my back, weighing me down with every step I took

I pushed my black rimmed glasses up on my nose and walked as fast as I could home

I walked past my neighbors who greeted me with a friendly smile

I waved in response saying a quick hello then rushed by hoping I could Dodge Ms. Myers, she was nice and all,but I didn't need another distraction,I needed to get home quick , even if it meant not eating any of her fresh cookies

I finally made it to my house and barged in immediately being greeted by the moving people giving me a quick hello and then walking past me to put the filled boxes in the moving truck

I walked slowly upstairs to my room which I shared with my brother

I barged in seeing him put the last of his clothes in a box

"What's up Lil sis?" He asked casually as  I made my way to the closet making sure I grabbed all of my clothes

"I am only one minute younger than you Stoney" I sighed making him laugh sarcastically in response

"Where's grandma?" I asked

"She went to go say goodbye to ALL of the neighbors" he shook his head messing up his already messed up hair

"What didn't you come to school today?" I asked concerned instead of answering me he walked out of the room

I took a glance around the room sighing as memories flooded through my head

I knew we where moving into a new, and bigger house for a good reason, but I'm gonna miss this place

"You butthole give me back my jar!" I yelled at stoney as he ran down the stairs with the breakable glass in his hand

He took a turn for the backdoor bit I just ended up just pouncing on him making him land with an "oomph"

I took the jar and stood up on his back smiling like I had just won a world record of beating my brother

Which by the way I did

Until he got up and ran for the sink spraying me with the hose

I dripped with water and ran after him again

My hands traveled along the bay window that my grandpa built for us when we where only eight

I stared out the window and watched the occasional car drive by slowly in the old neighborhood I would forever call home

(When emerald and stoney where 15)

I waltzed into our room seeing my brother sitting on the bay window with his head resting on his knees

With each and every one of his shaky breaths a sob escaped his pouty lips

His face was tearstained and red from all the crying

"Stone?" I asked and he looked up and then looked away

My brother had always been the strong one in the family, even after mom passed,but right now it was like I was seeing a whole new side of him

"Are you okay?" I asked and he shook his head

One thing for sure was we where always honest

"What happened?" I asked sitting in front of him and he shook his head wiping his tears softly saying 'im fine' I sighed and looked into his grey eyes

"Stone what happened?" I asked and he broke down

I wrapped my arms around him and held him tight

"Hannah broke up with me" he whispered I nodded feeling the need to not upset him more with my words

If only she knew how hard it was to put my brother back the first time

I let out a breath and heard the front door open signaling my grandma was home, I walked down the stairs making sure it didn't look like I was crying and made my way to the empty kitchen with nothing but me and my grandma inside of it

"Graham?" I asked softly she turned around and gave me a simple but sad smile

I hugged her and buried my head in her shoulder smelling the old lady scent that radiated off of her

Tears slowly dripped down my cheeks and fell softly on her warm sundress

"I'm gonna miss this place" I said lowly and she nodded

" I know honey" she pulled me tighter against her making me feel better even more

"Okay I have you're condoms Gramps!" Stone walked in the kitchen with a shopping bag in his hand eyes widened when he saw me and grandma having a moment

"Uhm..." His face reddened slightly as I looked at him physically face palmbing at his words

Grandpa then walked in laughing his ass off as grandma excused herself and groaned shaking her head at my brother who smiled sheepishly

"Stone..." I sighed smiling slightly

Weather it's on accident or on purpose my brother really knows how to lighten my mood
