The Fall

Ron let out a chuckle.

"What?"

"It's just funny how me and you haven't spent time together just the two of us since our last year in school."

"Ron, that was only like three years ago. And how is that funny?"

"I don't know Harry! It just is."

Harry nodded.

Harry was so caught up in his conversation with Ron, he forgot to look both ways before crossing the street.

"HARRY! LOOK OUT!"

Darkness.

Silence.

Hermione ran through the halls of the hospital, looking desperately for room 31.

She ran inside and gasped.

Harry was on the bed, hooked up to at least seven machines keeping him alive.

She looked at the nurse.

"What happened? Will he be alright?"

"We think he'll be just fine. He just got hit by a speeding car, and got a pretty bad concussion. But by the looks of it, he should wake up any minute now."

"Thank god," Hermione muttered.

"Although," damn it, "he hurt his chest pretty bad. He'll have a large scar over his chest. The we've stitched him up pretty good, but it'll be hard for him to move comfortably for the next week or so."

Hermione breathes out.

"Now if you'll excuse me, before we put him under he asked me to call someone."

"Huh? Who?"

"He didn't say the name, just the number."

Hermione was confused. She expected her phone to ring, but it didn't.

"Hello sir, yes. Yes this is a nurse from St. Mungos. Well yes. Yes Mr. Pott- yes Harry Potter. He has been in an acc- Rude. He hung up."

"Who was it?"

"Didn't say his name madam."

Hermione expected it was Ron, but he had just walked in the room. He had coffee.

"Got us some coffee."

"How long have you been here dear?"

"Since the accident."

"Then who.."

The nurse shrugged.
