Gryffindor: Apollo. Gryffindors are fiery and independent, the kind of people to not care about what others think of them (Apollo had a LARGE string of lovers, which did not increase his popularity). They prefer harsh truth to sweet lies, and Apollo is the god of truth.
Hufflepuff: Demeter. Hufflepuffs, much like Demeter, are kind and protective. If what they love is threatened, however, they will not hesitate to lash out (like Demeter does when Persephone is kidnapped).
Ravenclaw: Athena. Ravenclaws are intelligent, as is Athena, but also creative (Athena is goddess of crafts and weaving). They also have a more ruthless side, and Athena is also goddess of battle strategy.
Slytherin: Hermes. Like Slytherin, Hermes is notorious for trickery and deception, and incorporates both good and bad (Hermes is patron of ANYONE who uses the roads). They also move quickly, as Hermes did with his winged shoes.
