Day at the lake

Eddie kaspbrak lays in his unmade bed, unmoving not ready for the day ahead. "Why me." He softly states. Today was the first day of school, he hated school but almost loved it at the same time.

He drags himself out of bed and onto the floor below him. "EDWARD YOUR GONNA BE LATE!" His mother yells at him from the bottom of the green carpeted stairs.

He gets up groggily and slips into a pair of red shorts and a light pink polo. His mother was sitting in her favorite recliner when he got to the bottom of the stairs. "Bye mom." He says as he lightly kisses her wrinkled cheek.

Similarly to Eddie, Richie Tozier was not looking forward to the day in front of him. The one thing he was looking forward to was seeing Eddie, his best friend, the person he's spent the most time with out of anyone, like, ever.

Eddie walked out of his house and stepped down the light maroon steps, and onto the light grey sidewalk. The repeated chirp of birds got onto his nerves.

"Hey Edds!" Eddie lifts his head to see the Richie Tozier. His best friend, his rock, the one person he could spill all of his feelings out to and not get judged. The person he disliked the least.

"Don't call me that." He states through gritted teeth. "What? Edds? Eddie spaghetti?" " I said don't call me that!" He almost yells in response. "Okay, Jesus. Lighten up, Edds." Eddie only grunted, at the mention of his nickname that he disliked so much.

The two walked to school in silence after that, the only sound being wind in the trees, the small birds chirping, and Richie's pestering (in Eddie's opinion) whistling.

He whistled the same tune over and over again. Eddie hated it. They arrive to the schoolyard and spot their friends. "Hey losers!" Richie says as he runs to the group of teens.

Eddie only walked, in fear of having a asthma attack. Luckily he kept his inhaler in his red phany pack. A staple in Eddie's wardrobe. Richie found it oddly endearing that he was so obsessive over his and others health.

The way he was so meticulous as to make sure Richie was okay after he scraped his knees and cut his lip in a fight with Bowers, or when he cleaned and bandaged Eddie up after bruising his cheek and scraping his elbows climbing on rocks...

Wait...why was Richie thinking this? He couldn't have a crush on the germophobe. Would he?

"RICHIE-" His thoughts are interrupted by an all to familiar voice. "What?" "You spaced out. Anyway, are you coming to the lake with us after school?" "Uh..." Richie says unsure. "~please?" Eddie says, hopeful. "Sure, I guess I will." He couldn't say no to Eddie.

The group ride to the teal-blue lake on their bikes. Like always.

"You gonna jump in orrrrr-" Eddie asks richie while taking his polo off. "I'm not sure... are you?" "Well yeah- I mean..." Eddie says, unsure like Rich, looking over the edge to f the cliff.

While Eddie's distracted Richie manages to take of his shirt and glasses and approaches Eddie. He unexpectedly wraps his arms around Eddie and jumps in. (Therefore Eddie has to too)

"AH RICH- " Eddie yells. They splash into the water and the others cheer from the top of the cliff. "That was a big one!" Beverly says. "Wow!" Mike cheers.

"DON'T DO THAT TO ME, WE COULD HaVE DieD!" Eddie raved, voice cracking a bit. "Come on, that was fun!" Richies says in response. They swim to a small clearing in the forest that surrounded the lake.

"Your really fucking annoying some times." Eddie sates after they get ashore. "I was only being fun, come on Edds, I mean, it's not that hard to have some joy in your life every once and a while." " I guess your right."

Eventually the friend group grows tired of swimming and decide to go their separate ways. "See ya!" Bev says, climbing onto her bike. "B-bye guys." Bill stutters climbing on as well. "Bye." Mike states, climbing onto his own bike. "See ya at school." Stan says, walking in the direction of his home. "Bye" Ben says, walking as well.

"Ugh, my mom is gonna kill me if I go back now." Eddie says after a bout of silence. "Well, you can stay at my house if you want." "Really?" "Yeah I'm sure my mom will be fine with it, she loves you!"
