Lizzie's POV
Well, before that morning Lizzie was sure that life couldn't get any more confusing. She was wrong. Very wrong. She hadn't been expecting to find her two nieces from another universe inside her sister's house, although the bombardment of questions that followed were expected.
Fast forward half an hour, when everyone except the two Lucindas had been rounded up, she was once again faced with questions she wasn't sure she could answer. Not to mention the tension in the room was through the roof mostly because of Zane. The Phoenix Alliance gang- which to be honest was a name she had made up on the spot- were huddled in the furthest corner of Aphmau and Aaron's living room, glaring at Zane. He seemed very uncomfortable, and was half hidden behind the couch.
"Lizzie, tell us what's going on before I make you." Lady Aphmau threatened.
Lizzie shot her a cocky smile. She might not feel confident, but she wouldn't let them know that.
"Okay, long story short," She began, feeling the eyes of all of them on her, including both sisters and her mother, "I've been lying to all of you."
"No offence, but we figured that out m'lady." Zoey pointed out politely, but there was a slight edge to her voice.
"To be fair, I've lied to them more."
Lizzie nodded towards the group from the current universe.
"Gee thanks." Dante scoffed.
"Who are you Liz?" Aphmau inquired, frowning softly.
"Lady Lizbeth," She replied after a slight pause, "A divine being. The Realm Protector. The younger sister of Lady Irene herself. One of the most powerful immortal beings in this universe and many others."
"You're immortal?" Her mother exclaimed loudly.
"Yes, get over it. We have bigger problems. Whatever Lucinda did to our guests to make them come here needs to be reversed. People shouldn't cross between dimensions. It's dangerous and could end up sickening the land itself if they stay too long."
"So how do we get back home?" Sir Garroth queried.
"Hold on, how do you not have any other questions?" Other Garroth interrupted.
"We've dealt with a lot worse." Lady Aphmau admitted, her eyes drifting to Aaron.
"Okay," Lizzie interjected before anyone else could say anything, "Basically, there are dozens of different universes, many of them parallel ones with doppelgängers. These 'weird' guys are from one of them, and if we don't help them get back home, bad things will happen. I don't care what grievances you have with people, put them aside for all our sakes. Please."
Her sister from the current realm voiced her agreement, followed swiftly by her friends. Lizzie held her breath as she turned to Lady Aphmau.
The older woman turned to look at her friends and family before looking back at Lizzie.
"We'll help."
