Chapter 1:Mistakes

                                                             Chapter 1: Mistakes

If I didn't pay attention to what she said, I wouldn't be where I was now: friendless.

So you're probably wondering what I'm talking about... Well, let me take you with me and rewind to what had happened this last month, where my entire world began to crumble.

< 1 Month Ago>

"Are you excited for the first day of school tomorrow?" my mom asked.

"Mom, I go to school every year. It's nothing new," I replied.

"Yeah...but you get to see Andrew."

She added in a whisper, "More than you already do." She has this crazy idea that Andrew and I were gonna end up together or something. I rolled my eyes.

NEXT DAY 6:30 AM

"ARIANA GET UP YOUR GONNA BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" my mom yelled. After getting up from my insanely comfy bed (AKA the world's strongest magnet), I hopped in the shower.

After my refreshing shower, I put on the dumb uniform we have to wear at D.E Academy also known as Determined Education Academy (or how I call it: Douches, Dorks,and Drama Queens Everywhere Academy. But you know, same thing). After I had my uniform on, I put my long hair in a tight bun on my head (something to note: I never let people see my long hair).

When I finally got to school, I met up with Andrew in homeroom. We noticed there was a new girl. Andrew told me her name was Lilly. She was about my height, and had brown hair that reached a little past her shoulders, and light brown eyes. We started hanging out with her. She was nice, funny, polite, and pretty.

After a couple of weeks of school, Andrew started acting weird whenever Lilly was around. He would act like the biggest dork. Then one day he asked me an "important" question.

"Soo..." Andrew drawed out.

"Soo..." I replied, mimicking him. "What do you need?"

"Um...I was thinking, should I ask out Lilly?"

And at that moment I realized I DID have a crush on him, and I felt my heart break. I had on a blank face, my mind scrambling for words.

"Um... sure, if you want," I said and left without another word.

And he took my advice. They started dating, but Lilly left our group of friends and she started hanging out with the popular students. And even though Andrew and Lilly were dating, they didn't really hang out in school. Andrew sometimes flirted with me, which I thought was weird since he was dating Lilly but... hey, I'm not complaining.

One day, Lilly got mad. Andrew and I were walking down the hallway (like we weren't almost late for class) when Lilly suddenly walked out of the bathroom. She didn't look very happy.

"So you stole my boyfriend again?" Lilly questioned.

"Umm... what are you talking about?" I asked confusedly.

"You know what I'm talking about slut!" she snapped.

Maybe you would have ignored her like this was fifth grade or something, but this was me. So I interrupted her.

"You-" she began, but I cut her off.

"What are you talking about?" I responded in an equally angry tone.

"You always steal him away from me slut!" she yelled at me.

Now I never cursed so I thought it was rude and unneeded, but at that moment I couldn't control myself so I said the following words.

"I am not a slut! If anything you're the slu-"

"Don't call her that! Andrew cut in, glaring at me.

"But Andrew," I tried to reason, before getting interrupted again.

"No 'buts'! She's MY GIRLFRIEND. You need to respect her! Or else we can't-

"We can't what?" I asked him, cursing myself for even asking. I knew the answer, even before he said anything.

"We can't be friends anymore."

At that moment I didn't care that I would probably get in a lot of trouble, that I would cut class, and the school would call my mom.

I just ran out of the school.

And even though I didn't look back I could bet all the money in the world that Lilly probably had a grin the size of Texas.

Now we're back in the present. I'm feeling horrible and at that moment I didn't really care about my dumb little crush on him.

What hurt me was that he choose her over me! And you're probably thinking, "This girl is crazy! Lilly's his girlfriend. Of course he'd choose her over you."

But I knew him since we were four years old. Childhood friends!

And he just threw all of that away and said that we couldn't be friends anymore!

So I am now sitting on my bed by myself thinking over this past month. And how when my mom gets home I'm probably gonna get in trouble for running out of the school this morning.

Suddenly I hear the front door open and close. My mom just got home.

I fix myself up and walk downstairs, but not before thinking of what I'm going to do.
