Chapter 2: London?

"Mom can I move to London?" I asked. (Another thing about me was that I was that I was NEVER straightforward, so when I was it was usually something important...or bad.)

After she recovered from her choking session she spoke. "Excuse me?" she asked, confused.

"Can I move to London?" I asked more cautiously in case she decided to have another choking session.

"Ariana you're too young, and what about school?"

"Mom I'm 17 and I heard some kids saying you can take some tests, and if you get above 95 you can get your diploma and you're done!"

"How do you know you're going to pass?"

"Mom, I'm top honors!"

"Plus, doesn't Lucy live in London?" I argued trying to get my point across.

"Well, yes, but"- she started saying.

"And" -I continued, stretching the 'and'- "I think Lucy would be happy to see her favorite sister!"

"Ariana, you're her only sister."

"Look, if something goes wrong, I'll go to Lucy's house and get on the first airplane ride here!"

"Okay."

"Okay?" I questioned, not believing what I heard.

"I said, 'You can move to London'." she said slowly, trying to show she was being serious.

After I heard her response I ran up towards my room.

"Where are you going?"

"To study! I need to know everything for the tests if I want to go to London!" I shouted while running up the stairs.

<NEXT DAY>

I woke up a couple minutes before my alarm even went off. I couldn't help it,I was too excited to let any daylight go to waste. Today would be the day that would decide my future, if I would stay here, or take a chance of a lifetime, and go to the city of my dreams.

After getting up from my bed, I started listening to my radio. I was listening to a song that sounded very sweet, but I couldn't figure out who was singing the song. It sounded like more than one person singing. I let my mind go blank and listen to the lyrics.

After the song finished I sat on my bed thinking over all the lyrics, I knew it was just a song, but, it just made me believe that I was beautiful. At that moment I had 100% more self confidence. Something that I was lacking since Andrew started dating Lily.

When I was done getting ready, I went downstairs and ate a short breakfast before heading out the door. As I was walking to school, I thought everything over.

Am I doing the right thing?

Will I pass the test?

Am I stupid for running away from my problems?

All these thoughts passed my mind. When I looked up, I was already in front of the school. I looked down at my watch, 7:00.

Great I was early class didn't start till 7:30, but it would give me enough time to get all my stuff organized for the day, but it means I would probably see Lilly and Andrew.

I finally entered the school after debating with myself whether I should enter. I was on my way to my locker, when I felt my phone vibrate. It said I had a new text, and I bet you'd never guess from who: Andrew. After thinking for reasons for him to text me, after what happened yesterday, I read his text.

From: Andrew

Hi! How come you aren't walking with me today? D:

Sent: 7:15 A.M.

How could he think that I would walk with him?

Why would I even be around him?

How could he think that I would be just overjoyed with the fact that he screams at me one day and the next day expects that I forgot?

After calming myself down, I got all my stuff ready, and since there was still about 5 minutes, I decided to go to all my teachers for the test. They gave me the tests and told me to sit in the library to finish them. Good I won't have to see him all day, I thought.

When I was done with my tests I handed them in. They let me go home after that since there really wasn't a point in going to school the rest of the day.

<12:00 P.M.>

I had been waiting by the phone the whole day. The school said that they would tell me the results of the my tests by the end of the day. I was getting tired of sitting on the floor next to the phone, not wanting to miss the call.

"Ariana?" My mom asked from the door where she was standing.

"Yes?" I answered.

"What are you doing on the floor?"

"Umm... you know, waiting for my school to tell me the results?" I replied.

"Oh!" My mom looked a little nervous after I responded. " About that... they called my cell phone this morning."

"Wait... I waited here all afternoon for nothing? What did they say?"

"They said you passed!" my mom said happily.

"That means I have to start packing!" I exclaimed happily.

<COUPLE HOURS LATER>

"I am exhausted!" I flopped down on my bed.

We had just finish packing all my clothes for my furnished apartment in Britain. Mom already rented it after she received the news that I passed the test.

"What are you tired about? I did all the work!" My mom said, which was partly true.

"Lets just agree to disagree," I said, knowing what she said was true.

"Ariana, you know you're leaving tomorrow? Right?"

"Yes?" I questioned not exactly sure what she was getting at.

"You have to say your goodbyes..."

"I already did." I said knowing that I missed one person, on purpose.

My mom sighed. "Ariana you have to say goodbye to him. This may be the last time you see him."

Now it was my turn to sigh.

"Okay." I said reluctantly, wanting to stop talking about the subject.

My mom was right, though, I had to say goodbye, even if I didn't want to. So that was exactly what I went to do.
