According to my Opinion Its an ambitious program by PM Modi and a very positive move indeed towards making India a global manufacturing hub Certain points I would like to highlight are:
We fare very badly w.r.t. the ease of doing business with a dismal rank of 134 among 183 nation and this program will certainly remove that stigma by removing all the bottlenecks and red tapes involved and will pacify the frustrations of the investors who otherwise see India as a very lucrative market but are skeptical to invest. The program targets 25 sectors that includes important ones like automobiles, IT, electronics, pharmaceuticals, chemical, railways, defense, tourism and mining. The FDI caps on railways and defense has already being lowered and lot of moves facilitating the investors has already being taken like a dedicated cell, an investment portal and instructions to states and ministry of home affairs to facilitate the investors. This will certainly help garner a lot of investment and help create millions of job opportunities and also directly or indirectly complement the other schemes like the development of 100 smart cities and Swach Bharat scheme, development of infrastructures and could also attract some companies to contribute in CSR activities. This will help the consumers as it will bring more competition in the market and more choices, better services and improved quality available. The indigenous companies will also be benefited as they can involve the foreign companies in partnerships and can share technology and other new ideas as well as be competitive
However for all the benefits to accrue, the prime thing is luring more and more investors which needs lot of convincing, marketing skills and incentives for the investors. As of now the government looks very determined and poised to do that but we have to wait and watch for how much of the ambition is achieved.
