Im Alexander H. I know my story might sound too scary or like its out of a non fiction novel but exactly 32 days ago I quit my job at a small library on 32 elm street called "Lady Elms Library" this library was visited frequently by elementary students and there parents due to being right beside the local elementary school the work of was easy with little tasks like check in the books, put the books on the correct shelves, help the kids, order the requested books, and that's basically the justification of it considering I was just the library assistant and not the librarian the work was a lot less then the librarians the librarian of Lady Elms Library her name was Kayla, Anyway I'm gonna share the story of what happened when I worked there and why I refuse to enter that building ever again.

It was October 1st 2019 6:30 am,
I showed up to my new job on the quite street 32 elm street, I walked inside, The place had a surreal feeling the shelves reached the ceilings most of them against the wall packed full with books the walls were beige with brown strips the floor was dark brown almost black wood with carpets there were a few large chairs for reading scattered around and the large yellow lights lit the room dimly it was like walking into a cliche old library, weirdly I noticed that about 4-7 books sat on the floor probably from falling off the only reason I thought this was weird is because the library is closed from after 7 pm and it opens at 7am and I was working the opening shift and I was the only one here I put the thoughts in the back of my head after all it was an old library.

I headed to the back and started getting the new books and taking them out of the boxes and loading them on the shelves so far nothing was weird I was doing exactly as I was supposed to but I was on edge because I felt this weird feeling like I was being watched then after about 10 minutes I heard the door open "Kayla?" I called out waiting for a second for her reply "Yeah" I heard her say "just checking" I replied to her continuing with my work then another few minutes went by after hearing what sounded like Kayla saying "come here" but her voice was scratchy and deep almost like some distorted creature mocking her voice I stood frozen "K-Kayla?" I called out "stay there" I heard Kayla say this time her voice was normal which only make my heart beat faster the door opened and I turned to see Kayla's usually almond and flat skin as white as a ghost she quickly locked the door "Kayla what's happening" I said trying not to panic "I think someone broke in" Kayla said her voice shaky "well just phone the police" I said reaching for my phone "it's no good" Kayla said sighing "whoever this is always comes in and messes with the place all the time" Kayla said which kinda made worried "Kayla what are you talking about?" I said my heart pounding out of my chest I felt like I was gonna throw up "they break in push the books around mess with things and just imitate the people that work here like some sick joke" Kayla said making me take a deep breathe "I think we should install some security cameras or something" I said trying to figure something out Kayla replied "I already ordered some but there coming on the 4th" I sighed "how often do they break in and do this crap?" I said curiously "usually on Tuesday's but not every Tuesday" she said making me think "so do you think it's ok to go out now?" I asked "yeah I think so" Kayla grabbing the door knob and opening it I slowly popped my head out nothing.

October 2nd 2019 7:00 am.
I unlocked the doors and fiddled with the keys while walking up to Kayla's desk "so how's it going?" I asked playfully "it's been interesting" she said "what do you mean?" I questioned but just before she could answer a kid walked through the doors she looked about  7 or 8 and went towards the kids section "Please get the papers from the printer for me" Kayla ordered I walked to the printer down the creaky wooden hall and opened the door and going to the printer and swiftly grabbing the papers and returning to Kayla and giving her the papers, I looked over and the kid was looking at some of the picture books "she's a regular you know" Kayla smiled "the only reason I stay here is cause of the kids I couldn't leave them if I tried" she said before returning to her work I let out a heavy breathe and smiled ~ weirdly this is the only time Kayla seemed to go off topic of work ~.
