Chapter one 😌

(Madison's P.O.V)

Evelyn and I have been attached at the hip since we were 7 but the thing is we're total opposites but that's what sparked our connection. We had different things to tell instead of the same boring basic things.

Oh and did I mention that I'm currently living with the Fosters? Yes it's their last name. I've been living with them for a month because my parents had abused me my whole entire childhood until I moved. I still have marks and bruises all over because of them.

It took me awhile to accept that I had moved and now I'm going to Liberty high. Evelyn only lives 4 hours away from my house.

(First day Morning)

I currently laid in bed contemplating if I should turn off my alarm clock or not. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about today. In a swift, quick movement I had pressed the off button.

I swung my legs off my bed and forced myself to get up. I walked into the bathroom and took a five minute shower. I then brushed my hair and left it down. Since this is a new school I felt I had to at least dress up a little so I put a black crop top with high waisted jeans along with my black hat.

I grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulder. I then got my phone from my nightstand and walked outside. It  felt hot so I decided to walk to school. I only lived about 3 blocks away so it wouldn't take long.

When I walked into school I looked around to see what cliche I'd fit into and I honestly didn't find anyone.

As soon as I walked passed the jocks some of them whistled but the others just stood looking at me. I looked back and gave them the worst death glare I could muster. This tall guy with brown hair and looked like the leader, laughed at me.

I looked in front of me and looked for the office, choosing to ignore it.

"Good morning!" I said when the office lady looked at me. "I'm here for my schedule." I continued on. "Name please?" She asked and was trying on her computer. "Madison Warner" I replied calmly.

The lady handed me my schedule and I smiled at her before I left to find my locker. It took me awhile but I found it. I opened it successfully and cheered in my head. I toss my backpack in there and grab my books for first hour.

The bell rang and I started speed walking to class. I got there a few minutes later and the teacher just shook my hand and told me to sit in the way back.

I sat in the back and a girl that was absolutely beautiful sat next to me and smiled. "Hi I'm Hannah, Hannah Baker." Hannah says. I shake her hand and say "It's nice to meet you I'm Madison, Madison Warner." And that's when class started.

(Later that day)

The bell rang signalling that it was lunch time and I took my phone and earbuds outside to the bleachers and sat there while listening to some music that I like.

It took me awhile to realize someone was saying my name. I took out my earbuds and turned around to see Bryce walking up to me with his posse behind him.

"Soo... I'm having a party tonight around 10 and everyone's invited. Especially you." He winks at me. The way he's looking at me up and down makes me feel like I'm being eye raped. I nod my head and say "I'll see" as I pick up my stuff and walk back inside to my locker.

(End of the day)

So I'm going to the party with Hannah and she's going to stop by later so we can get ready together.

I'm already excited to have her as my friend but Evelyn is also going with us. I hope those two get along or it's going to be awkward.

(Later that night)

The doorbell rang and I jumped every two stairs while running down. I quickly opened the door to see Evelyn and Hannah joking around. "Hey guys!" I said in my usual cheerful voice. "Hey it's been awhile bestie" Evelyn says and hugs me. I let go and give Hannah a hug as well.

"My foster parents are on a business trip for awhile so don't worry about being loud." I said and laughed. I invited them in and we all went straight to my room.

We all took showers and we're wrapped in robes as we dug threw my closet. "Sooo... Any hot guys to dress up for Maddie?" Evelyn asked and I laughed. "Not yet" a pause. "How about you Hannah." I asked and her face went red. I laughed and said "Who's the lucky guy?" While wriggling my eyebrows at her.

Hannah laughed and said "Well I kinda like Justin." And in a joking way Evelyn and I laughed and said "Get some!!!" In a jokingly way and Hannah knew.
