Tovi's POV

I had finished the room yesterday, all I needed now was put away my clothes. I might've gotten distracted when decorating my room. Good thing, though, so was my mom. So when she comes back from work today we can decorate the living room together. I might've also procrastinated when looking throughout my photo album. I have gotten a little bit emotional when looking at the pictures I had of my dad. He was a good man. He believed everyone had a good heart. Even criminals. He told me of all of his experiences. He told me of all of the meaningful stories he's been through. He'd taught me how to cook and how to clean. He taught me what makes bread, bread. He taught me how to read and how to just be myself. He even taught me a bit of psychological stuff. My father was a professional psychologist and a really good therapist. He knew when I was sad or when I was lying. He knew how to talk to me when I was upset or anxious.

My father had taught me many things. When he got in that car crash he never told me any more information. I was lost without him for a while, so was my mother, but both of us healed together. Look at us now, having a house for ourselves, trying to live the best of our lives without a pillar.

I was downstairs making a bowl of cereal for me and my mom. I had school in an hour and she had to head out for work in thirty minutes. "Mom! Cereal" I called out as I hear her rummage for her keys upstairs. "Be there in a sec!" She calls back and not a second later she is rushing downstairs to the kitchen. Her bag was on her shoulder, jacket rested on her arm, and her heels in her hand. "Better gulp this down before I head out," She said as she hurried to eat the cereal I made for her. "Just don't eat too fast," I remind her.

"I wish I didn't, sweetie, but I have to leave right now! I have a meeting with my boss today! It'll only be us! Which means I'm possibly getting a raise!" She exclaimed, dumping the milk in the sink and the rest of the cereal in the trash. My face lit up. "Mom! That's amazing!" I put my frosty flakes down and give her a big hug. She laughs in delight, "I just hope that it is a raise!" She jokes, "Ok, I'm heading out now! I wanna be there early!" I nodded and picked up my bowl again.

I bid her goodbye and good luck. She did the same for me and left. I hurried to finish my cereal so I could get all my stuff ready for school. By the time I was ready to leave it was 7:35. Just enough time too! I lived right behind the school. It was just a crosswalk away.

The school was big. Bigger than my last school. In fact, it's the complete opposite of build and decor. It had stairs that led up to humongous doors. Inside it was simple but interesting since the roof was completely gone. The sides were where the classrooms were. Two pairs of stairs led up to both sides of the upper floor. I smiled and rolled on the heels of my feet. This will be exciting! Hopefully, this new school will be nice!

I walked up the stairs and luckily found my classroom right next to the stairs. When I opened the door I see a girl with blonde hair taking gum out of her mouth and putting it on a seat. The guy that was next to her freaked out. "Chole! What are you doing?" Chloe, the blonde-haired girl, had ignored his comment and stepped back. "Perfect!" She stepped back and walked away when she heard the door open once again. I moved out of the way, apologizing to the blue-haired girl for being in the way. I turn back to the mess that had happened before and notice that the blonde boy was picking at the gum. Ew, even I wouldn't touch anyone's gum, and I'm pretty sure I've touched grosser things.

The blue-haired girl walked over to the blonde boy. Then it clicked in me. That was clearly her seat. "What are you doing?" The girl questioned, upset, and angry at the same time. The blonde boy turned to her and tried to explain himself, but failed miserably. I sighed as I saw the girl who actually planted the gum laughing with a friend on the other side of the room. Great a bully is what I need right now.

I need to defuse this situation, I was the only witness and I was not letting that girl get what she wants. I walk up to the two and tap the girl on the shoulder. "I'm so sorry to interrupt, but I couldn't help but notice what was going on over here. I saw the whole thing that happened and he was trying to pick off the gum that the blonde girl over there placed," I explain to her. I put my backpack on the table and pull out a pencil. I also ripped out a corner of a paper. I bent down next to the blonde boy and picked the gum off and placed it in the paper. "So there's no need to cause any conflict between you two," I turn to the girl who caused this whole thing, "If you wanted to do that, you could've at least owned up to it instead of blaming someone else, but that doesn't mean it would've made it better. It would've been better if you threw away the gum instead of making a mess,"

I covered the gum in the paper and threw it in the trash, celebrating to myself when I actually made it in the can. You don't know how many times I helped someone out like this and completely embarrassed myself afterward. "Hey," I turn to the blue-haired girl, "I've never seen you around before. Are you new?" I nodded.

"Tovi Hapeir. Just moved in yesterday," I say with a smile. "I'm Marinette," the blonde boy stood up from his spot to which Marinette glanced at the boy. I knew that look, she was still skeptical about him. Even if I told her that he did nothing, she still can't trust someone she's just met. I just met her too, she might think that I'm also a part of it. The blonde boy and I just have to prove to her that we aren't bad.

"I'm sorry for the mess that Chole caused you, I promise that I wasn't trying to put that there for you." The boy apologized. Marinette squinted her eyes and left. Moving in the second row on the opposite side of where she now sits. Adrien frowned.

I put a hand on his shoulder. " Give her some time! She'll forgive you," I patted his shoulders. He turns to me and nods, a smile made its way onto his face. "My names Adrien, thank you for that," He introduced. I knew who he was, Adrien Agreste. His face was on almost every billboard. I give a short nod and held out my hand. "Tovi Hapeir!" I introduce myself again. He takes hold of my hand and gave it a firm shake. "It was nice to meet you, Adrien! If you ever need me for anything, I'm always here!" I say and make it to the top of the stairs. What a way to start my first day, huh?
