pale sunlight shone gently on the dark brown tabby's face as dawn arrived. he squirmed beside his siblings, his paws twitching. his front paws covered his eyes in an attempt to block the light so he could fall back asleep. it was no use; he was already up, and so were his siblings.
a bengal's face filled oliver's vision as he slightly opened his pale green eyes. "morning, alex," oliver muttered, rising to his large paws and leaving the warmth of his soft, cozy bed. he shook the small red blanket off of his shoulders before stepping out.
alex bounded around the room, sliding on the hardwood floors. the energetic tomcat didn't stop until bowling into an off-guard oliver, who had been tiredly grooming his ruffled and messy fur. finding a little bit of his energy finally, oliver began to wrestle his brother.
oliver batted at his brother's head swiftly and pummeled the bengal's soft underbelly. once he assumed alex was stunned enough, he grabbed his brother's shoulders and flipped him onto his back. alex was startled and oliver couldn't help but laugh at his expression. "you should see your face!" oliver exclaimed, pointing with a large paw.
alex suddenly took off past oliver and bounded up the steps that led to the second level. oliver clumsily followed after him, tripping on the way there. the dark brown tabby found alex in what his humans called a "bathroom." the bengal was perched near a round bowl-like structure. the humans had called this a "sink."
"alex, you know we're not aloud up there!" oliver glanced around nervously. what if willow and pine find us? they'll be mad that we disobeyed our owners..
"you worry to much, oliver." alex meowed, staring down at him. "it's practically the crack of dawn! nobody else is up. and besides, you were the one who said 'you should see your face.'"
oliver sighed. "i didn't mean it literally." he muttered. "just do it quick!"
alex made the face he had performed while wrestling with his brother. his ears were flattened, his eyes were wide, and he had that disgusted expression with his tongue poking out slightly. the bengal laughed and decended his way down before bolting back to where winter was peacefully grooming her pretty white coat.
winter waved her tail in greeting before standing up. she motioned over to the bowls of dry food by the entrance to the den. it had just been filled, and oliver for one couldn't wait to eat it. his stomach had been growling since last night. the three siblings bounded eagerly over and each tore into their food.
