I wake up and roll over and see carter sleeping I slowly get out of bed to see breakfast, flower and a card it said "Enjoy your stay, sincerely Blake" the flowers smelled amazing they were roses, my favorite. "Willow?" "Oh .. good morning carter would you like something to eat?" "Yes please" he said. He got up as I was getting everything ready and we started eating when we got done we walked up the street to a gas station for more food and water. We walk into the gas station and get some more supplies running out the door but to our luck the cashier wasn't at the counter, so we started walking back and when we walked in we thought we should get cleaned up since we haven't takin a shower since we left home. Carter went first so I decided to go through the drawers to see if anything was left behind. I found a pistol inside the drawer and decided to pull it out. After all my dad taught me how to use guns so I handled it with care. I walked outside to get some fresh air. Carter was inside watching cartoons. I sit down and start crying Then my phone starts to buzz in my pocket so I take it out it reads "mom" I shake nervously as I answer it. I wait for her to say something as we sit in complete silence. "Willow I'm sorry please come home" she said. I stutter "n-no I c-can't you beat us and you can't ever take back the shit you've done to us" I hang up and go back into the room but as I turn carter stands on the wall crying "carter.." "NO! we had the chance to go home and live a normal life and you ruined that." "Carter you don't get it she beat us and couldn't even pay the bills she's not stable enough to take care of us." He runs to me and hugs me I comfort him and tell him everything is going to be okay but honestly I don't think it will but I'll do anything to make sure he's happy. He's all that matters.
