Lunch break and memories
-Ruel's POV-
It was lunch time at school.
Jack, Hayley, Steve and Katie were all seated at or table where we all usually sit.
Y/n and I walked over, she seemed to zone out for a few minutes.
Ruel:hello, y/n??
I waved my hand in front of her eyes.
Y/n: ugh hi I'm here.
She grabbed my hand that was in front of her face and held it for a few seconds and then realised what what was happening.
Y/n: I'm sorry.
Ruel: don't apologise.
She sat down and I took my place next to her.
-y/n's POV-
Hayley: the summer formal is this term.
Katie: oh god, we should go shopping.
Hayley: for sure, y/n?
I wasn't the one to usually go to dances and stuff because I wasn't in a relationship and the guy I had a crush on, well I couldn't ask him.
Y/n: yeah sure, I'll be there.
I don't know what just came out of my mouth, why did I agree to that?
Last winter dance jack and Katie went together and Hayley and Steve were dating. They have been on and off since but I can tell that they are still interested in each other, even if they deny it.
Katie and jack have been dating for about 4 months now.
While they were all at the formal Ruel and I had a sleepover at mine.
As stupid as it may sound we stayed up most of the night playing Minecraft and building a bunch of stupid stuff.
By about 4 we both passed out.
That was such a fun night.
Ruel and I were very similar in many ways.
I was guessing that Hayley and Steve
would be going to this dance together but who knows with them, but of course jack and Katie would go together.
Ruel probably would have some other pretty girl to go with so I was really unsure who I would be going with or if I would be going alone.
Katie: the dance is a few months away so if we get our dresses now, we won't have the same as everyone else.
Hayley: you're so smart.
I wasn't one of those girlie girls that loved shopping and I had signed myself up for a day in hell.
I whispered to Ruel who was next to me.
Y/n: please save me.
Ruel: you got yourself into that one.
I rolled my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder.
He turned he's head and whispered in my ear.
Ruel: but...karaoke at mine tonight?
A smile appeared on my face instantly.
Y/n: oh it's on.
Ruel and I would hang out on a regular basis but we never told the group becausethey would make a huge deal about it.
-AFTER SCHOOL-
Class was a bit hectic and I was a bit frazzled.
I walked to my locker and shoved my books in.
I flung my bag over my shoulder and rushed home to get changed before heading to Ruel's.
I brushed my hair and put on some light makeup Then grabbed my phone and headed up the street to Ruel's house.
I knocked on the door and within a few minutes Ruel opened the door.
Ruel: hey, come in.
Y/n: thank you.
He lead me inside and up to his room where we would usually hang out.
I felt pretty comfortable around Ruel.
Ruel: oh coco and Sylvie are at my cousins birthday dinner tonight and my parents have gone to New Zealand to visit my grandparents, so you're welcome to stay over if you would like.
Y/n: if that's alright with you?
Ruel: yeah I love you're company and I honestly don't like being in this big house alone.
Y/n: okay I'll stay.
Ruel and I have spoken previously about how our parents tend to go away a lot and
we don't like being alone at night, he would usually stay at mine if my parents were away as would I with his.
It wasn't anything I wasn't used to.
We just seemed to relate in many ways and just understood each other.
There were usually not secrets between us...well I only had one I was hiding from him.
