Title: The Girl Between Two Worlds
Author: K.M Levis
Publisher: ANVIL PUBLISHING INC
Summary: Karina is the main character of this book. She is an ordinary teenager, the only thing that makes her stand out is her mother, who has been missing for years. Everything changes when her supposedly dead grandfather appears and tells her she is not human, but is half Engkanto, a magical being that originates in folklore from the Philippines. Things only get stranger as more and more creatures from Filipino mythology appear and has to learn to fight them. Even after all that, she has normal teenage things to keep up with. Boys, homework and social life have to wait as Karina takes on the biggest challenge of her life.
My Opinion: I think this is an excellent read that ties in mythology with real life perfectly. The plot has many unexpected twists and turns and is never boring or predictable.
Rating: I give 'The Girl Between Two Worlds' a 9/10. It is very entertaining and the language is distinctive. Thank you K.M Levis for bringing a great book into our world.
