A challenge

~ Ron's POV ~

That bloody Yule Ball has got me mad! It was just... Amazing. Exactly what I thought it'd be like. Well, McGonagall told us about something that could bring back the dead? I can't remember exactly what it was called. I'll ask Hermione since she was paying attention, unlike me. The classes were boring, but something has caught my eye. Moody drinks his potion every time a class leaves and comes. And I just remembered that when we made the Polly Juice potion in second year, we had an hour until we morphed back and Moody's class lasts an hour! No, I'm going mad, it can't be anything like that...
Stupid Ron, why am I thinking of these things? So, I was walking towards the common room when I suddenly heard two people arguing, one of them was definitely Snape. I stayed there and listened.

~The conversation ~

Snape was mumbling to the other person and Ron could pick up this and only this;
Snape: What is happening to you... You're acting like a Death Eater who got caught trying to escape that prison, that place we call Azkaban... Aren't you..?
The other person chuckled and said: of course I'm not a Death Eater, Severus... If I was, you'd know it
Snape growled and Ron heard a push against the wall.
Snape: don't you give me that look! You know you're not who you're acting like. Tell me who you are and I won't tell Dumbledore. I don't guarantee anything, though.

And that's when I left. Tell Dumbledore what? What was this important that Snape wanted to find out? I ran and reached Harry. I told him everything I heard. He started pacing and I sat down. This... This was too much for me. What if that somebody kills us? It's scary, really. I just have to sit and wait to see.

~ Harry's POV ~

That was honestly terrifying. A possible Death Eater? At Hogwarts?! Dumbledore must know about it. There isn't another explanation for it. But, on the other hand, why on earth would Dumbledore let a Death Eater enter the castle? It doesn't make sense... I'll do some research on it with Hermione, we're probably going to tell McGonagall or Dumbledore, but this is our game. We have to find out, not them. And that's what we're going to do. In a few days is the second challenge and I still don't know about the egg. I gotta admit, I'm a bit scared of it. What could it be? What could actually be worse than a dragon? Maybe a dementor for me, but Krum, Fleur and Cedric? Obviously not. It doesn't make sense. We just have to wait and see.

'For the fifth time, it's called a Melokreta! There are only three in the world and Hogwarts has one!' Hermione yelled.

'Melokreta... It's a strange name, isn't it?' I asked.

'Yeah... Very strange' Ron said. 'we better do more research on it, maybe we'll need days' he continued.

'But I need to know what that egg says!'

Ron and Hermione sighed. I walked out of the common room.
