For as long as I can remember I have only had two friends who became my family,  Jordan and Sasha. Ever since I was able to lie I have only told one lie and that is about my family and myself, my name is not Maria, and Kabila,Rosa, Sudha and Aiko are all a lie.

Here is my real story.

I lived with a very strict christian  foster family called the Smiths, they gave me the name Sophia. My life is hell I am abused by my father and brothers who force themselves on me and treat me like a toy, my mother and older sister are no better they beat me till I am more dead than alive. I have also suffered from severe depression and have a habit of plannjng my suicide but the only thing stopping me is Jordan and Sasha. So now here we are again at the beginning.

In the past two years I have run away from six schools. I would always leave a secret message for A
Jordan and Sasha to find and for the past month the three of us have been living on our own, trying to survive on our wits and what we could steal. We each have separate parts to play if we want to stay alive and out of prison Jordan is a brilliant planner and coordinator, while Sasha and I play decoy, thief and if needed defense. The only benefit of living with the Smiths was that my 'father' Mathew was a mixed marital arts teacher so I picked up quite a few useful lessons from him. I decided that it would be best if we all could defend ourselves if we ever needed to and since Jordan knew karate we both taught Sasha a bit of each.

Today is a normal Monday morning I wake up at 5:45 am so that I can watch the sunrise from the roof of the building where we stay. I have always stayed at this building every time I would run away from school I would live in this abandoned school. It's a really nice set up, part of the school has been sectioned off for families who have nowhere to live. The rest is a school for the children of those families so that they don't get into gangs since they would be at home the whole day while their parents try to find work. The people who live here are my family and I could never ask for a better family though we are poor we are all happy.

Quick fun fact about me:

When I ran way from school for ths last time I decided that it would be too easy to find me if I kept my name and identification documents so I burnt them and changed my name to Uhuru which means freedom. A thing I have never really had, and a nickname my favourite teacher Ms Park gave me before she committed suicide.
