It was a fairly average day in Teletubbyland. Cleo, Sunset and Dee Dee were all sitting in the superdome, eating tubby toast. For once, things seemed perfectly peaceful. Sunset had barely touched her toast, though; she was busy working on an invention of hers.
"Whatcha workin' on, Sunset?" Cleo spoke with his mouth full.
"Glad you asked, my friend!" Sunset held the invention up proudly. "I'm working on a machine that will filter our custard! Seeing as it's contaminated right now with... ...SOMETHING... ...We can't eat it. This machine will fix that for us! Exciting, right??"
"You mean we can have custard again?? WOOHOO!" Cleo jumped up with glee, accidentally dropping his toast on the floor in the process. "...Whoops."
"Nevermind that, you can make more later. I've just finished the last few tweaks on the filter! Who wants CUSTARD??" Sunset smiled eagerly.
"OOH, ME! ME! PICK ME!" Cleo could barely contain his excitement.
"Alrighty, Cleo, you get the first bowl!" Sunset smiled, walking over to the custard machine.
Cue the passage of a couple minutes or so. Sunset had finished installing the filter into the pipes of the custard machine.
"Alrighty... Moment of truth." Sunset put a bowl under the custard tap and pressed the red button. Out came tubby custard as expected. Sunset took the bowl and pulled out the same X-Ray goggles she had used the last time, scanning the custard. "Aha! It's perfectly normal! I'm a GENIUS, haha!!"
"So... We can eat it?" Cleo blinked.
"Yeppers!" Sunset took the goggles off and happily handed Cleo the bowl of custard. She then turned to Dee Dee. "Dee Dee, you want some?"
"Oh... Um... Okay." Dee Dee half-smiled, standing up and carefully setting her toast down on the table.
Sunset made two more bowls of custard for her and Dee Dee, and the trio all sat back down and ate it.
"It's kinda quiet in here. I think I'll turn on the radio." Sunset pulled out a small radio and put it on the table. She turned the dial, searching for a station she liked. She tuned it to a rock station, a pop music station playing one of Telly Drift's top songs, a talk radio station, and eventually just settled with a news station.
"Attention Teletubbyland!" A female news reporter spoke in an urgent tone. "We have an important announcement! It was recently discovered that custard machines worldwide have been dispensing custard that is laced with some sort of terrible virus... Stay alert, and whatever you do, do NOT eat any of the contaminated custard!"
Sunset gasped. "A virus?? THAT'S what it was contaminated with? Boy, am I glad I scanned it first! Though it doesn't affect us much now, seeing as we have my filter."
"But... Who would do this? So many innocent teletubbies probably have that virus now... Why would anyone be so cruel?" Dee Dee whimpered.
"Beats me..." Sunset shrugged. "I guess we'll just have to find out!"
Cleo smiled and slowly pulled out his detective hat, putting it on. "Sounds to me like a mystery."
Sunset facepalmed. "Not this again."
"Fear not, citizens of Teletubbyland!! I, Detective Cleo, shall save you from this terrible virus by finding the culprit and stopping it at the source!!" Cleo yelled triumphantly, his voice echoing through the walls of the superdome.
"Stop it at the source... That's it!!" Sunset grinned. "This virus probably started at the Custard Facility, the source of all of Teletubbyland's custard!! If we can go there and implant one of my filters in the main custard supply, we can stop the virus from spreading!"
