Destiel: In The Arms of an Angel

Because of his stubbornness and tough-guy mentality, Dean insists that he's big spoon. Castiel doesn't mind, but he doesn't understand why it's so important to Dean. One night, the couple are in their usual position, Dean pressing his chest to Castiel's back, and everything is peaceful. That is, until Dean began to squirm and whimper in his sleep, holding Castiel tighter and tighter. He could feel his sharp breaths against the back of his neck and the rapid thumping of his heart.

"S-stop....please stop it." Dean cried in his sleep.

Castiel couldn't take it anymore, he had to do something to help calm his boyfriend down. The angel flips the hunter over on his other side and snuggles against his back. Then he encloses his boyfriend in a gentle, yet firm, embrace and peppers kisses to the back of his neck. Soon Dean is soothed back into a calm and peaceful sleep. In the morning, Dean was confused when he woke up in Castiel's arms. Last he knew, Castiel was in his arms.

"Cas...baby, wake up." Dean said nudging his boyfriend's arm.

"Hmm? Oh, good morning, dear." Castiel said waking up.

"So...um....how did this...um, happen?" Dean asked referring to their position.

"Last night you were having a nightmare." answered Castiel.

Then the angel got all quiet and timid.

"I-I know you don't really like...this...but i-it was the only way I could get you to calm down. I'm sorry..." Castiel said letting go of Dean and beginning to roll over.

Dean grabs Castiel's arms, stopping him from rolling over.

"Why are you sorry, you didn't do anything wrong. Don't apologize for comforting me. Look...I know I can be weird when it comes to...stuff like this, but I don't want you feeling like that we have to do everything my way. If you want something just tell me. Besides...I think I kinda like being little spoon, it feels nice...and warm....a-and safe." Dean said securing Castiel's arms around himself.

Smiling, Castiel presses a kiss to Dean's cheek then nuzzles his face into his neck. Since then, the two alternate between big and little spoon.
