Chapter 2 - Billie's POV

     I sat on the floor, playing with the cats. Patrick, an American Shorthair cat with sandy blonde fur and a white belly chased the string, Bear Bear mewing and pouncing towards Pat. I giggled, both Pat and Bear Bear now fighting over the string. Bear Bear, also an American Shorthair cat, had black, short fur with big, forest green eyes.
     I chuckled and let Bear Bear play with the string, Pat looking at me with his amber eyes. "Paaat!" I laughed, getting a toy mouse and grabbing it by the tail, moving it in front of Pat's face, Pat's paws grabbing it. Pat bit the mouse, clawing onto it. I giggled and gave the mouse to Pat, Pat grabbing it with his mouth and padding over to Bear Bear.
     "They're playful, aren't they?" I heard John say from the doorway. I peered back at him. "Yeah!" I grinned, John smiling and walking to me, sitting down beside me.
     "Come here, Pat." John called to Pat, Pat looking at him before wandering to him. John pet Pat's head, Pat dropping the mouse in John's lap and rubbing his face up against John's chest. John giggled and pet Pat more.
     I smiled and pet Pat's head, Pat purring. "He's so cute." I mumbled, John smiling at me and nodding in agreement. "He's my baby, Pip likes Bear Bear more because he's more playful than Pat." John told me, stroking Pat's head before Pat twirled around before laying, curled up in John's lap.
     John pet Pat more before looking at me. "Are you okay?" he asked. "What?" I replied, confused. "I-I just wanted to make sure you feel safe here, I can bring you back home if you want.." John muttered.
     I shook my head. "No, I feel safe here." I told him, smiling. John slightly smiled before looking at the time. "I should probably go put Pip to bed." he muttered. I smiled. "Okay." I replied, John gently laying Pat next to him before getting up and going to Pip's room.
     I looked around before feeling a warm feeling of comfort washing over me. I feel safe. I thought.
