Jaeden

His name rolled off his tongue perfectly.

Jaeden

He was so beautiful in Wyatt's eyes.

But in his own mind he was the ugliest thing ever.

Ever since Jaeden was ten he always felt like someone else.

Like he wasn't himself.

Each time he looked in the mirror he saw someone else staring at all of his flaws.

He felt like the small, fragile figure that was staring back at him in the mirror wasn't him.

It felt like his body was a cage and he was just dying to get out.

He felt like anything that was apart of him he didn't have control over.

He felt like the only thing he had control over was what he put inside of his body.

He thought if he could control anything it was his weight.

So when he was 11 he started to eat less.

It started with portions.

He would eat 3 times a day but he would eat very little portions of food with each meal.

It eventually went from the amount of food he ate to the amount of calories he ate.

He wouldn't eat more than 1,000 calories a day.

But when he turned 13 he started to skip meals.

He would eat a small breakfast and small dinner.

He refused to eat lunch.

He was only eating 800 calories a day at this point.

That eventually turned into only eating once a day.

Some days he would eat breakfast and on others he would eat dinner.

It always depended on what he felt like eating that day.

But when he had turned 14....he started to go days without eating.

It went from eating 800 calories a day....to eating 800 calories a week.

Whenever he did eat he ate a lot.

He would consume about 2,000 calories one
day and the next....nothing.

This went on for months.

Each time he would get on the scale in his bathroom his only thought was to get smaller.

As the months went by the numbers got lower.

By the time he was 15 he weighed about 68 lbs.

He weighed about as much as an 8 year old.
