She sat there, on her back porch, just staring into the woods. She set her book down and got off of her swing. It was the middle of fall. Where the leaves fall, girls wear their high class scarves and football has started. Her name was Jessica. Brown hair that is naturally straight and goes half way down her back with the ends blue. She wasn't your typical preppy girl who never shuts up about how they cried while watching The Fault in Our Stars. She hated sappy movies. She was 17, her mom was a nurse while her dad left her when she was only 1 1/2 .She despised him. Hasn't seen him in the past 2 years. She never wished death upon anybody, but she honestly hoped he would get hit by a bus that would drive off a bridge and get eaten by sharks. Then there's her mom. Always judging her and basically molding her into the "perfect daughter". She's mostly the reason she cuts herself. Never did Jessica think she would grow up to be this depressed and alone. When she was younger she was always so happy, then IT happened. Her ex boyfriend she was with for four years, he started cheating on her and beating her. He was never a drunk but one night he came home and he wreaked of alcohol. She caught one whiff and backed away. He managed to somehow grab a handful of hair and pull her back. She closed her eyes and winced in pain. He made her face him and she could smell the alcohol even stronger now. He started smiling and chuckling. She didn't expect him to do what he did next. He pulled his arm back and slapped her across the face. She held her cheek and felt a tear roll down her already swollen cheek. She never thought he would do that. She loved him, how could he? She pulled away and the look on his face changed. He looked sad, like a total different person. She turned around and ran. "Jessica! Please!" She didn't listen. She didn't want to hear what he had to say. She slammed the door closed and locked it. She buried her face into her pillow and started crying. He started punching and kicking at the door. " Dammit, let me in!" It made her jump. He has never been like this. She looked over at the window. She tried opening it, nailed shut. "Fuck," She mumbled. She looked around for something to break it with. She found his Xbox controller and threw it. "What was that?!" He screamed through the door. She hurriedly jumped out the window and ran. She looked back and started to slow down into a speed walk. She knew where she would go. Greysons.
