This close, his eyes were like ocean, and I tried to ignore the funny twisting in my gut.
"You are avoiding me?" It was more of a statement than a question.

"Listen I - "

"You would not have avoided me if Yui was just joking around." he interrupted.
Nausea curled in my stomach.

"It was pretty clear that she was trying to hide her mistake by how desperately she tried to make it sound like a joke."

"I don't know what you mean."

He averted his gaze as if he knew I would not like his next words.
"I think you do like me, not Peter.... I always thought you liked Peter." he said shaking his head in disgust.

It finally hit me what he was saying, and I couldn't help the incredulous look I gave him.

Peter is the brain of our class and a really good friend of mine I can see how people can misunderstood.

His gaze captured mine again,
his eyes turning a deep dark green. Before I could contemplate how a person's eyes could have so many different hues, he took a step toward me, forcing me to take another step back.

"I have to go," I uttered, moving to go around him.

"Running away won't change anything, Eve." I stared at him mutely, and his words hung in the air between us.

He was in front of me, coming closer and closer, blocking my only means of escape, he skidded to a stop inches from me.
The air left my body.

"I..." I had no idea how to respond.

Aaron eyes swept over my face as if he was searching for something. "You like me, don't you?"

I thought about all the time we have spent together and all the good and bad memories that we have, it was not a little crush anymore.

The sun was low in the sky now, and it suddenly bathed his perfect face in golden hues. I nodded mutely.

He made no move toward me, but I heard a softening in his voice. When he said "I like you too," He looked away briefly, and his expression was serious when his gaze returned to me. He took another step toward me, his eyes searching mine. So close I can even count his eyelashes... Truly beautiful.
"To tell the truth, I have liked you from the first time I saw you sitting on the bus. You looked so beautiful and innocent...I could not help it I had to know you."
My heart just about stopped. It's not a dream right? Please..please do not disappear when I wake up.

"Aaron.."
Come on, Evelyn. English is your first language. Try to speak it coherently.
