Rethought

Chapter 2

                  
      I never thought about the bad decisions I've made, normally I'm a pretty good kid I keep my grades up, I do my chores, and I even volunteer for the animal shelter.

"Okay Mandy do you have any idea what actions you might want to redo? Think wisely though don't think about the mildly bad decisions, think about the major decisions." My brother said calmly.

I do remember one but I'm not sure I want to say it aloud it's super embarrassing.

"Well, I guess there is one thing. At the time me and my family were broke but my parents worked really hard to keep us under a roof. It was in fourth grade, me and my best friend Samantha were on the swings and this kid walked up to me and started to laugh I had no clue why. I looked down and I guess there was a rip in my pants and I looked ridiculous. I wasn't embarrassed really because Samantha was there for me and I felt safe. But she started to snicker as well and she said.

     "Poor Mandy it must be sad not having
enough money to buy clothes. Aren't those the ones you peed your pants in like a month ago *she snickers again* you should've seen her face."

      I was so embarrassed that I ran straight home, my parents weren't there at the time and my brother was still at school so no one knew I was home. I ignored her for a while, actually I ignored her for 4 years but I still remembered, she continued to make fun of me though and I was over it so I planned something, something I would never do, that no one would expect for me to do. So I knew that her parents had super high standards with grades and she would always reach them, because she copied off of me of course. So one day when we had a huge test that would determine our algebra grade I asked my teacher for a copy of the test and she didn't ask questions she just handed me a copy of the test. And I always sat in the same spot and so did Samantha so I knew for sure this was gonna work. When the test started I wrote down a bunch of wrong answers on the first copy and of course Samantha copied me. She turned it in and I didn't, I then got my second copy of the test and wrote down the correct answers. When she got her grade the next day she looked disappointed and I had that sinister feeling in me. The next day she wasn't the same she looked sloppy like she's given up, and she didn't do any of the work during calculus, and when we had lunch she just tossed it in the trash. She continued to do that and she continued to disappoint her parents and herself. She stopped eating and looked very unhealthy, one day in gym class when we were playing volleyball she passed out because she didn't have anything to eat that passed week. Her parents both passed away in a car accident and she couldn't take care of herself so she got put in a orphanage. And no one adopted her because she was really skinny and weak and looked like a skeleton. She's now in a mental institution because she would refuse to eat. I've regretted what I did ever since." I said disappointedly.

     "Wow Mandy I thought that you just like ran away from school or something, maybe cussed out a teacher but this I would've never expect from you." My brother said surprisingly.

     I felt ashamed especially since I have this opportunity to redo it, I really don't deserve it but I guess I have to make this up to Samantha. And to myself maybe I will no longer feel the guilt of nearly killing someone.
