Mia lays on her bed as she talks to her boyfriend. "So, I was wondering if you wanted to do something today?" Mia asks.
"Wha--Mia Walker, are you asking me out on a date?" Jeff asks. Mia laughs and bites her lip. "I don't know...Maybe?" She asks happily.
"This feels like deja vu...I mean I swear we've already been dating for two years and I already asked you out..." Jeff says pretending he's thinking. Mia rolls her eyes, "I know, but I just...I want to get out of the house..." Mia says as she tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear. Silence goes over the phone and Mia can only hear Jeff's breathing.
"Did something happen?" He asks. Mia bites her lip tightly as her mind reluctantly goes back to the time John raped her. "N-No...I just...My parents are being dicks the same as my fucking brother and--"
"What about John?" Jeff asks. Mia's stomach turns at the thought of him. "Wh-Why would you ask that?" Mia asks with harshness in her voice. Jeff notices the distress in her voice, "I was just...wondering about your family--"
"John, is not my family...he's one of my father's bum ass friends that can't get a job!" Mia says loudly. The line goes silent and Mia covers her mouth and closes her eyes to keep tears from leaving her eyes.
"Jeff...I-I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you. I was just--"
"No, I understand, I can't worry about my girlfriend that I love. Sorry for bothering you." He says with annoyance. Mia shakes her head and keeps her eyes shut. "N-No...that's not what I meant. Jeff, you know I lo--"
"I've got to go Mia...I'll talk to you, later..." He says quietly. The line goes dead and Mia squeezes her eyes shut and throws her phone to the ground. She grabs her jacket and goes to leave the house, but stops as she sees John standing in the doorway. She feels her whole body start to shake because of his presence and she inhales and shakes her head and shoves past him.'
He follows her down the stairs, "Where are you going?" He asks with a smirk. Mia scoffs and grabs the doorknob, she opens the door but John slams it shut and she tenses up. "You going to visit your 'boyfriend'?" He asks aggressively. Mia chuckles, "No need to put air quotes around boyfriend. Because he is my boyfriend." Mia says looking him in the eye.
John shakes and reaches his hand out towards her but she slaps it away. "Get the fuck away from me? Alright!" She goes to open the door again but he slams it shut. And She steps back.
"You can't leave, Mia. I love you too much, to let you go--"
"You are a fucking psycho and I want you gone!" She yells at him.
